So a friend from Alberta was telling me about this one. He had some kind of disease in his flock. A bird would start to stumble around and a day or so later it would die. He took it to the vet and he couldn't figure out what was doing it. Next one they sent to the lab at the U of A. They couldn't pinpoint the cause, but suggested that the next time they say one, that they kill it, maybe catch whatever it was at a different stage and identify the problem. So a few days later, there was another hen showing signs. So he picked it up by the feet and swung its head against the barn door, and sent it away to the lab. A week later, he got the results from the university. The chicken had died from a blow to the head.
