Too much snow!!

Post by Rhonda » Tue Feb 16, 2016 3:38 pm

Hubby just called me. He is trying to get home but the snow is so deep it is almost impossible. There is a pickup truck stuck on the main road that leads back here. From the other direction we have a fairly steep hill so Terry has parked his car at a neighbours near there and is walking in. Going to be a long haul in snow to his knees. He told me not to even try to come and get him in my Rav. Have tried to call the people in the area who I know has a skidoo but nobody has made it home. Don't know if he will want a hot drink or a stiff drink when he makes it!

Too much snow!!

Boom FM radio station in Ottawa said that at 2 pm 37.5 CM of snow had fell since 4:30 this morning.
I was sent home from work for safety reasons at 1200 and when i got home my son couldn't get the snowblower going so was shoveling the end of the driveway while my Wife was Working on it. They had then end done as i was getting home. Just enough to get me off the road then my wife got the blower going so then she started while i got changed to go out and take over.

guess the rain we have been having all day is snow up there....we had abut 3 inches of snow last evening but the temp was going up all night so it turned to rain which froze as soon as it hit the frozen ground. The roads were horribly dangerous all morning but the temp kept climbing and the rain finally melted the ice....then the snow....so now we only have the drifts and piles left. Had to open up the barn some, gave an over abundance of silage last night so wouldn't have to do the mud slide thing this evening. Got 2 green eggs today so another lil gal must be laying....I have four of the green eggers and the rooster is their brother....will it be ok to let him breed with them or should I kick him out and if its ok...will their chicks lay green too? Well chili heating on the stove for supper, better check it, later, Hay

Walked to the end of the driveway, Only one lane of road plowed, but already snowed under again, not too much traffic going by, just as well it would be unfortunate if two cars met going in opposite direction.
DH just finished plowing path to the barn, so one more trip to the barn to collect eggs and that's it for me!
Send dog out and he didn't want to get of the porch, I guess thats it for him too.
Didn't we all suspect the winter wasn't going to be THAT easy? ;)

MJ runs a fairly large daycare centre...she stayed home today cuz couldn't get out anyway...we knew this snowfall was coming and it was going to be a good load...a lot of the folks that are clients of the centre work in Ottawa and we all know how Ottawa handles a heavy snowfall..it doesn't...so what do these folks do...bundle their little ones into the car at the crack of dawn and fight the unplowed roads to drop them off at the centre just to go to work....wtf!!!???...sorry..nothing is that important...

Yep, 17 degrees on Dec 24, now we get "snowmageddon" (at least there's no sharks falling with it, or polar bears)

Yep, its not global warming, its global weirding.
No such thing as "normal" weather anymore.

Godspeed to you and yours.
