Good morning, or "as good as possible under the circumstances" for those who remember Peter Gzowski...
Yesterday I braved the depths of snow in the orchard to see if there were snow drops blooming and sure enough sticking their brave heads above the snow crust announcing life happening under the snow.
Glad I did that, today back under the snow, but now I KNOW they are there :)

Our "wetlands neighbors" who built their dream home in a wetland, would now like us to take the wetland out of their back yard, and in an effort to gain access to our portion of the wetland have hired a lawyer.
So, after a rather stressful period of research, we have retained a lawyer too, Hope the Blanding's turtles appreciate it.

Well went out to our local wildlife spot (don't panic, nobody else there) and was rewarded by swans courting. Fuzzy porno swan pic tomorrow! Watched this pair for ages while they flirted. Then a pair of Canada geese swam up and it was a little odd. I was getting ready to leave fast if necessary but they didn't seem aggressive (I was sitting down by the water) and the little female came very close, a foot away, while the male watched. Then the dominant local pair turned up and chased these off and I got some pics of them fighting. Lovely warm afternoon too.

Remember how on the hockey game and other broadcasts they would say "Hello to all the shut ins out there." This is my news update and hello to all the shutins.

Worked in the orchard pruning Wed and Thurs. They called for rain Wed eve. So Wed after work, I dug and prepared one of my raised beds. Cath and I then went and planted radishes, lettuce, choy, kholrabi, beets and things, need to get some peas in too. The walking onions are ready any time and chives I havent looked at should be ready by the time salad stuff comes. Then there is dill and mustard greens volunteer all over the garden. The small rain came overnight. Then yesterday, Friday we made a road trip to get scratch for the chickens and some groceries, banking etc. Get up this morning, a bit of lightning and thunder, and a proper rain going on. So glad I got those seeds in the ground. Fresh salad will be here in a while. Had potatoes in the ground for about two weeks. Now if we can get a get a few sunny days for those to warm the ground a little. Peachy to hatch today tomorrow if that episode with her off the nest for several hours allowed the chicks to live. Goat due in a couple weeks so we should have goats milk again. Been out since the new year and I darned well miss it.

I am so jealous @Farrier1987 , garden here still frozen solid.

My contribution to the healthy eating here, baked a carrot cake yesterday.
Not really a cake person, never baked one, not sure I ever ate one before, but the reasoning here, not much flour left in the house but plenty of carrots, and with eggs and walnuts in it, it's very healthy food, almost a vegetable really

Made it in time to post when it's still morning!
My crocuses are blooming, too. Yay!
It's raining a bit here, too. We let the hens out yesterday and the day before since it was so mild.
And... this is proving to be a better year for egg production from "my girls".
Made 8 loaves of bread yesterday.
Time to get more sewing done today!
