Sufficient ventilation?
Sufficient ventilation?
I’m in the process of finishing up a new coop. I’m now considering where and how many vents to put in. There are 2 openings on each end (30”x30”) that will be covered in hardware cloth. Overall size is 12x20. Is this enough? I was also considering putting in soffit vents aswell and could always do that later if needed.

Thats an awesome effort for a building...kudos...but Ross is bang on...it won't ventilate well with the end window openings...my recommendation would be to put hardware cloth on a couple of stretches of that soffit seeing as you haven't closed it in yet..and add lower vent openings on the opposite side...orrrrrrr...put in a proper roof vent at the high end or the shed roof...obviously we all know about venting for summer heat but winter humidity and dust are just as critical so do it now before you get too far....but nice building for sure...

Well said TomK , if fresh dry air in coop it WILL be warmer as long as no heavy moisture . Luck
