Coons are DEAD! Too late, but dead is dead!
A not so great week last....a coon got into our coop - ripped the corner of the wall off and got in, killed all but 2! 1 freaked out rooser and 1 freaked out hen, but all the others were very dead. I was SOOO mad! I had bought all the hens ( EOs) and had a lovely Golden Phoenix rooster...and the coon happened. So we moved the surviving 2 birds OUT, put in the coon trap, and caught one that night. It is very dead now. So we set the trap again, and if we didn't get his brother the next night! ALSO very dead now. Very disappointing, was about to collect eggs for hatching to increase my numbers....Long way to go now.

Oh no
I'm so sorry for the loss of your birds. Glad you're catching the buggers.

Re: Coons are DEAD! Too late, but dead is dead!
it feels wrong to cheer on the death of an animal, but 'coons are the mass murderers of chickens. (plus their populations are much higher than they would be in a true wild world.)
Its too bad the "animal lovers" would rather we fill the world with plastic than kill a few animals for fur.
Keep trapping and make your coops tougher.
