Now about that new crop Prince Justin wants us to harvest. Some of my friends use it and I wouldn't want to see them sent to jail for it so the laws changing are inevitable. One scary stat I just heard was that many people who use pot don't think it affects their driving and others believe it actually improved their driving. To be CLEAR, studies show that is not true, they are like a drunk driver. It's sad that we finally started getting drinking and driving under control and this is coming. Studies also showed that texting while driving is way more dangerous than the other two. They need to stress much much stronger that certain people are much more likely to develop schizophrenia if they use it before the age of 18, another really sad side effect because there is no going back if you trigger this disease.

I'm a to each their own kind of person. So long as it's not hurting anyone then go for it. I do not believe pot should be illegal. I also don't believe anyone should be driving after partaking but I'm not naive enough to believe that is the biggest danger on our roads. Having dealt with a severely pinched nerve before I went the "legal" route and progressed along the opiate highway until I wound up on fentanyl patches. No doctor will ever put one of those on me again unless I'm terminal and don't want to know what's happening. If I'm ever in a similar position I will try the natural route. I find it funny that there seems to be some resistance to legalization from some on this forum. In today's world this group is very grounded and natural so I guess I just assumed that legalization of a weed wouldn't be a big deal.

I'm with you Happy. I do agree with SR too in that any drug can interfere with the a person's ability to drive or operate machinery. I believe though that alcohol, prescription drugs and other illegal drugs affect more families negatively than the use of marijuana. I am more for natural remedies than for man made or synthetic medications. I've had many adverse reactions from medications personally. I don't want to get into how prescription and other illegal drugs have affected me personally with family and acquaintances. My mother was one who totally trusted doctors and she honestly didn't know that they aren't always right. I'm not totally against prescription drugs, but I do believe they are over subscribed. Canadians apparently use prescription drugs the most of any other countries. Any time you go to the doctor's they want to write you out a prescription. They get paid for it. Unfortunately what I have personally experienced, I have a difficult time trusting the medical system. Marijuana helps some people and even animals. Vets are prescribing it for animals too. If it helped your child or favorite pet how could you say no if it was the drug that could help. I am also aware that this is a big cash grab for the government and I don't totally think that it is gonna make a big difference to the black market.

Legalize it. Control it. Try to keep it away from kids. I have a schiz son, I am told stated at 11. Like booze, it is going to continue to be a problem, but maybe less overall problem if allowed legally.

One of the things I think they should do is insist on plain packaging, no coolness attached to the glitzy brand and packaging.

Many people thought that this was going to create jobs and small businesses, everyone notice how the government is taking control of the market? ,If you look into it deeper, you will find many past liberal politicians have a hand in the industry, the people in the pot shops did all the work, the elites are preparing to step in and reap the benefits.

I don't use pot personally, as (besides being illegal) commonly available street strains give me some rather nasty side effects. Even if I enjoyed the high, (I don't) I'm not a fan of panic attacks, nor of spending two hours on the toilet with a bucket in front of me because I'm unsure which end will blow first.
There are strains, especially those bred for medical use, that do (or don't do) specific things. For instance calming and pain relieving, but won't alter your sense of time and space, make you high, or have an anxiolytic effect.
I'm a little...high strung, for lack of a better word, and if it were legal for me to do so, I would definitely grow some varieties to experiment with. I'd be on that like white on rice.
That said, I used to work a drive through window, and if I suspected a driver of being high, I phoned the police...I don't want myself or my loved ones to have to share a road with these morons that bust a mirror off while giggling, sit there silently because they can't collect their thoughts enough to order chili, and can't tell if 5 seconds or 5 minutes have passed. An awareness of time and space are skills you should probably have if you're driving
I have a friend who uses medical marijuana for progressive MS. Heavily. Where before the pain and spasms kept her pretty much bedridden, she can now do light housekeeping and go out for dinner. It costs her $1200 a month for the ability to do things most of us take for granted. If she were allowed to grow a couple plants for herself, she could potentially save a LOT of money. Less money in the pockets of bureaucrats and pencil pushers and opioid addiction treatment, is more money in all our pockets, I think.
