Happy Mother's Day

Post by Shnookie » Fri May 12, 2017 12:22 pm

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers of humans and critters! :broodyhen:

This dogwood bush looks normal, nothing special.

When I walked past it yesterday I noticed there is a duck nesting in the middle of it. I think she's a Pintail.

There is also a pair of killdeers nesting in my yard, in almost the same spot that a pair nested last year. I don't know if they would be the same birds as last year.

Thanks for all the Mother's Day wishes and a Happy Mother's Day to all! I'm looking forward to sitting outside this afternoon to do some bird watching on our patio by the pond. I take my binoculars and bird book.
Shnookie we use to have a lot of killdeers, but that is one of the birds that has disappeared from here, or I haven't seen for a few years.
Killerbunny two years ago we had a robin's nest right out our kitchen window on a beam on the deck. There was 4 babies. Pretty awesome watching them grow and leave the nest.
