Seem to be having an exotic sale this Friday, March 17. Calling it a March break sale. Don't remember them doing that in the past.

Did it have a good turn out of stock for sale last year? Have to take time off work to swing it.....gotta think about this one. I avoid the Easter one....too crazy busy, zero space to even breathe and the road is a nightmare. I have gone to other ones in the spring and have found interesting stuff.

I avoid the Easter one too. Does avoid mean not go? I avoid it but I go. I always leave because. Well people.
There really wasn't oodles last year. I recall a lot of quail and pigeons, but I think it is still early for most people to have a lot of offerings.
Last week when I was there, there was more people than animals at the auction. I didn't stick around because there was a goat, omg smelt so bad!! I couldn't get it out of my nose for hours. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Most of the roosters were in terrible shape, scaley legs and a scovy had ripped a nail out and was bleeding. AND There was a marked 'Ontario' vehicle there.
What you should do is ... How far do you work from the auction? I will be there and you can text me and get inventory updates. Dash and bid!

In the past I have gotten there early. You get people before they register their inventory. Cash and dash. Some want the auction because they think they'll get higher price/bird and that's fine. But some know what the birds will go for and just bargain with you at tailgate. I will be there early this year as well.

So, anything exciting there in peafowl or a young pair of Sebastopol geese? These things would make me weep that I didn't go. Hahahahahahahahahah .

Peacocks? Does that count. Some young ones 9 months each. No geese. 1 duckling. A few scovies and a few runners. There were some ducks with a beanie on their heads. Tuft? I can't remember what they are called, interesting for sure. Oh there were some very nice looking 'call ducks' males. White. Very white, very nice looking. Clean. But they didn't squawk like calls normally do so I suspect crossed?Epona wrote:QR_BBPOST So, anything exciting there in peafowl or a young pair of Sebastopol geese? Baby goats. I'm not sure I'm willing to admit my ummm, situation with the baby goats. But they are no longer cute in my books! They are little

Some very pretty Guinea fowls, polka dots.
Anyways, I left empty handed. A lot of people. A lot of bunnies, rabbits and Guinea pigs and I didn't see a single turkey. Not a lot for the big auction to be honest. I suspect Easter will be much better.
So good choice to stay at work.
