The pullets are laying!

Post by argosgirl » Thu Sep 08, 2016 9:46 pm

This year's pullets have started laying in the past two days :wee:

The white leghorns were first to start and they're giving me the cutest little eggs right now. They're adorable compared to size of the eggs from the older hens.

However, it's this olive egg that has me most excited. It's from my first homebred pullet and I love the colour! I think I'm feeling more addicted than ever now that one of my Littles has started laying.

Just had to share since my friends really don't get why I'm excited.

Yup, always exciting when the hens first start laying, especially when you hatch them out yourself.

The leghorns are 17 weeks now and I hadn't even thought about them starting to lay since I've been waiting for the olive egger, who is six weeks older, to get started. Now I have to rearrange the turkey pen so I can swipe those nest boxes for the young girls!
