Good morning everyone! FRF hows the knee coming along? that's a busy week, and what a downer to be sick. feel better soon.
so mad....was crossing the road, and some idiot decided not to stop for me in the crosswalk while everyone else was, went through a puddle and soaked me. OMG have to admit, unladylike language this morning. SOME PEOPLE. okay, so it's dark, it's raining, but STILL! and if i wasn't so bloody sore and decrepit these days i would have chased him down and had a pedestrian rage on him....grrrrrr. (not really road rage if i'm walking is it?)
well, i put a couple of new boys in with a few girls yesterday, new black tailed buff marans breeders. not so sure that the 1 boy will stay in there, i'm a little unhappy with a couple of black feathers coming in on his shoulders. hm.....otherwise his form and the rest of his colours/patterns/leg feathering is pretty much as close to perfect as i'm going to get. darned black feathers....grrrr. shouldn't have black shoulder feathers at all. my other boy is beautiful, no black where he shouldn't be, nice buff/reddish leg feathers all the way down but not between his toes. very happy with him. i only have 5 others that i can switch out the shoulder boy with...but they all have more major faults, like black leg feathering, or black in the hackles....one i swear can't figure out if he's wheaten or black tailed buff. he changes with every moult! LOL.
looks like winter will arrive in a couple of days! i see -15 as the HIGH on saturday next week? guess i'll get out the bigger brooder with the heat lamp and brooder plate, brooder plate on one side, heat lamp on the other tonight, and set it up. i noticed a pip on one cornish egg this morning. it was cheeping yesterday, and another was tapping. with my luck i'll end up with 1 chick again LOL. at least there are 3 already out in the one brooder-3 weeks old and 6 weeks old. eating me out of house and home apparently LOL.
hope everyone has a great day!
