Yes, I tend to let Ontarians know about PYO on BYC, particularity if they're looking for some sort of Ontario contacts or information.

Re: What's missing from the forum??
Not that I am aware. And please don't waste your time, the forum software makes a "1290347734" out of every attachment anyways.windwalkingwolf wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 3:25 pmWhat if picture files were named, would that help visibility in web image searches? For instance, if I was googling pictures of Sumatra chickens, would results from PTO pop up if someone had named their uploaded file "Sumatra 1" instead of "09823DSC" or whatever?
Links, yes, but I have changed that a week ago. So if you post a local link to anywhere in the forum here it looks like this now:

I actually found PSO by doing a Google search then switched over to PTO .

Re: What's missing from the forum??
Yes exactly. Thanks for the specific example. I think the "everything and the kitchen sink" nature of the good morning thread means that useful information is buried in the chat about the weather and what not. The old pso was the other way. People posted about something specific like bumblefoot and the thread would meander off into other topics, but at least you could find what you were looking for. It kept things fresh and interesting, because one old-timer would answer a newcomer threaded, and then another old-timer would jump in and they might exchange some personal or offtopic bits in the process, so it was friendly-feeling, like asking your neighbour for a tip about your chickens and then gabbing about new stuff at the feed store.

Re: What's missing from the forum??
Another example of how we see things differently.
What stayed in my memory most vividly about the original PSO, were several members with amazing knowledge, still miss them,.............and the "war of words" that exploded on regular bases because of some members who knew EVERYTHING and were always RIGHT!!! and people getting banned occasionally. Don't miss that part
Anyway, not much point bemoaning how things used to be, lets make PTO the best it can be

Thinking about it, and I am guessing that a majority of us read books fairly regularly. Thinking that we might make a book review, discussion heading in the forum. Others thoughts on that?

Re: What's missing from the forum??
I was thinking about that too. Always curious about others suggestions.
