Only For Geniuses

OK I think I have the 5 and 7 minute timer one.
Start the 5 and 7 min timers together. When the 5 minute timer runs out, there is 2 minutes left on the 7 minute timer. Immediately flip over the 5 minute timer, so that the 2 minutes left on the 7 minute timer and the 5 minute timer run together. When the 2 minutes left in the 7 minute timer runs out, there is 3 minutes left in the 5 minute timer. That's when you start counting. When the 3 minutes left runs out, flip the 5 minute timer over, and again when it's done, and you have 3 + 5 + 5 = 13 minutes.
LOL poultry admin, I had no idea what you were talking about until I figured it out! I was trying to understand how you'd subtract time :-/ but I get it now!

You got it Robbie!
That's exactly how I came up with it, too.
But I now have an easier explanation.
Turn the 5 min over 4 times in a row. That makes 20min.
Turn the 7 min over at the beginning, too.
When it runs out the 5 min one will give you 13 remaining minutes...

Well, we keep going with the timing theme and this time we burn ropes.
So you have two ropes that burn for 1hr each. You are trying to time 45min.
The problem is that the ropes dont burn equally. Some sections burn faster than others. And yes, you can't cut these ones either.

Oh wait- Set one rope on fire in 2 places and keep 2 burning ends going at all times, so if one segment burns out light another. This will time 30 minutes for the entire rope to burn. when that's out set the other rope on fire lighting the 2 ends and 3 in the middle, so that you have 4 segments burning. If any go out set another on fire so that there are 4 segments burning at all times. This times 15 more minutes. I think!

Get the olive out of the Martini glass.

You must rearrange these matchsticks so that the olive (that's the thing in the middle) is removed from the Martini glass. The olive must not be touched and you are only allowed to move two of the matchsticks. The Martini glass can be turned onto its left or right side, or even upside down, but must remain in the exact same shape.

None of the below images are the solution because the olive is still inside the glass or because the glass has taken a different form.

HInt:it doesn't matter if the matchstick's heads are pointing up down or sideways but a match head must always touch a match bottom or vice versa in the "glass" part. ie Two match bottoms or two match heads must not touch.

It's an ersatz olive and martini glass but if you have enough of them they will start to look real.
