Well, lots of good stuff is happening.

Cath's mom has moved into a seniors residence, out of her own house at 87. We don't have to dread the call that she has fallen and wasnt found for 12 hours or some such.

Warm weather is finally warming the soil so I can work the garden.

Goat babies and moms al doing ok.

AND I got another dog. My old Lop was going down hill after Ranger got killed last Nov. Wasnt interested in much, just slowing down fast, so to speak. He is 12. And I had been looking for another dog. Was thinking smaller than Ranger, who was Lab Pyrenese, but also not an apartment type yappy hairball. So cruising Kijiji, I found this guy.

Border Collie Pyrenese cross, 12 weeks. Guy I got him from has 600 sheep and 6 working Pyrenese. His neighbor has a border collie that made a conjugal visit. Almost my dream dog. To H and gone up past Listowell. 4 hr drive one way. and Cath and I have gone to one vehicle and she is in Sarnia doing stuff with her mom's house. My neighbor was good enough to lend me his car and I went and got him. Puked a lot in the neighbors car.
Anyway, got home and its been a couple days.

And that smaller dog nonsense? He is going to be stupid big. Huge paws. I hope we can afford to fed him when he is grown. Lop wasnt sure at first, but is beginning to take interest in things again, getting a spring in his step. Maybe me too.

What a handsome pup @Farrier1987. I wonder what side of the Border Collie or Pyrenees instincts he will have – the smart herder or the loyal guardian? Either way he'll be a great farm dog.

I must admit @Ontario Chick my almost 6 month border collie x Aussie has gotten me into shape! But oh can she be naughty...

I attribute her farm roots to her love of lying in every mud puddle she comes across! Thank goodness as a farmer I don't mind getting muddy either!

Good morning, I think, pulled out all the extra clothes I just put away and tried to do a bit of gardening, too wet and too cold !!!
Seriously !
On the other hand everything that had even a suggestion of root and some that didn't, have sprouted, including in the garden left over from last year some lettuce, couple garlics and on parsnip, go figure ;)

Well yesterday I planted up a bed with lettuce, cilantro, mesclun tape and spring bunching onions. 4 baby turkeys found their way past the fence and rearranged it all for me!

Hiya! yeah, i'm about....around....which way is up again? I have a pile of fuzzybutts in the barn, just happened earlier this week, and all the scrambling to get gardens in, take care of greenhouse plants, and landscaping and other animals, fencing, and work. gah! Our neighbour here has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, and with 2 little kids we're doing what we can to help her and her hubby out! Tomorrow i'm headed over to plant her vegetable garden for her, all the plants were started in my greenhouse a little while ago. At least i can just load the flats onto the atv and drive them over.

I know, photos or it never happened with the fuzzybutts. i'll try and get photos sometime this weekend! Lots of blacks and silvers and blues from @Bayvistafarm and a few of my own hatched too. i loaned an incubator to my sister and nieces and they did a hatch for me too setting the same time so they all hatched together so they could all be brooded together.

got our corn in, the beans will get in when it stops raining again. Have about 200 trees to transplant out to erosion sites, and all the perennial/annual and vegetable plants to get into the garden. Sorry i haven't been around as much on the forum! i do lurk and read (i HAVE to read grumpy chickens every day...makes my day!).

and thinking of dogs-i sure hope all yours are smarter than mine! Stung by a wasp on the paw....i should buy shares in benadryl. And deet. My goodness the ticks are HORRIBLE this year!!!! Thank goodness for nexguard or spectra or whatever it is that we give her. I've been bit once already, and we've pulled 2 off the dog, and managed to get several off me and DH before they bit. Seems to be a bad year for them. We're even picking them up just walking down the driveway and not even getting into the grass!

Wow, that seems like a very full plate for you @WLLady don't forget to be kind to yourself :chores:

Taking stock of what is happening here, if it wasn't for the giant pile of wood chips that need transporting, and the seedlings in the potting shed that need planting, and the dogs nails needing trimming, and the hosta garden needing weeding, and the grass needing cutting, I would be on easy street. ;)
Not sure how we ever managed chickens in the mix :idunno:
