I can definitely appreciate a woman who is a force to be reckoned with !!

I would like to point out, I do have a hurricane that shares my name. Coincidence? Depends who you ask. :running-chicken:

my hubby's first company was Labour Force where he subcontracted out himself plus crew for construction jobs and horse show setups and party tents and stagecovers all over Ontario and for horses down into Ohio and New York too.

Then he decided to own the horseshow setups and the party tents for weddings & stagecovers and we called ourselves "A Shaded Affair Inc"
Everyone else out there was so-and-so's tent company but we wanted to be unique....got some interesting calls over the years with people not looking at our logo (tent sillouette) and looking for ummm...lady friends, or window blinds or lampshades but it made us memorable :rofl1:

I did the farming thing on the side all those same years on top of those businesses (I was office) and have my outside career and kids.
Named the farm A Shaded Acre so we could use same website if I ever chose to put it up on the side bar of the main corporate site.
Now hubby is home permanently with the tent company corporation dissolved and it is just us and the farm. :type: I really do write too much!

We live on 6 acres that is zoned agricultural. It's full of flat rock and clay. We tried growing sweet corn when we first moved here but when the tractor got into the field all we could hear is the disc scraping the flat rock. The corn grew like crap, so I re-forested it about 20 years ago. The native trees grew fine as we figured the only thing we could farm here was flat rock! LOL

When I was breeding Percherons (on a very small scale), I needed a prefix for name registrations. I went with "Dominion Acres" eg. Dominion Acres Archie is one of the registered Percherons I bred. Dominion is taken from Canada's official title- the Dominion of Canada..... Link is my last name.
