Oh crap is right. My chickens no longer free range, they have a fenced outside run. My dog will kill them any chance she gets, have had a couple fly over the fencing never to been seen again. She eats some of it and then bury's them for me to find at some point down the road............ :barf:

Sounds like a good deal from OC

Sometimes misfortune isn't- a while back when things were tough a friend sent me this video, based on a Zen Buddhist Taoist (oops thanks Tom) story- and this was a life changing video for me, sounds hokey, but now I think differently.
Alan Watts and the story of the Chinese farmer- 2:20 min video

I was thinking the same thing Robbie. Look at it this way Tom, no more attacks from Earl from behind or at all. Sounds like OC's offer is one that shouldn't be refused. Unfortunate event, but Otis just needs a watchful eye and now you know his limits :)

As we all know, Dogs are individuals and should be individually assessed for each situation. Personally I didn't worry about Cinder. If she was eating and the chickens came over (raw diet) she would leave her food and come find me. Cinder would carry the ducklings gently and drop them in the pool. They climbed on her and she clearly mothered them. Drake just wants to play and is a bit too big to play with ducklings lol. Drake, if he has food and a chicken comes the chicken is going to get a growl. Chickens don't understand growls so it's my job to make sure Drake has the space and opportunity to eat without chickens stalking him. No food, Drake is great, but Drake still gets a watchful eye.

It was a pleasure meeting you and MJ, there certainly was some kind of "karma" at work.
After having a little "reality check" brought on by Rosse's post, I have decided it's time to.... not exactly scale down, but definitely stop expanding.
The original plan was to use "Big boy" now "Tom's Boy" ;) for F3 next year, but line has to be drawn somewhere, so I decided to let him go and start advertising him on Monday.
Then I saw Tom's post........I mean seriously, what are the chances???? :)
