I think this article is about using it for soil emending, but the recipe is the same no matter what you use it for. A couple tablespoons in a squirt bottle of water, and you're good to go.

Yes, thanks WWW - great suggestion!
I wonder if spraying this in the run in summer would help with smell? I started doing the deep litter method in the run last summer. It helped quite a bit to keep the smell down, especially when I added herbs from the garden, but sometimes on really hot days it could have used a little something extra.

i use deep litter for chickens and have no9 problems. in winter i also use it for ducks but in the summer i clean out regularly
