Well, at least there is one trauma I am spared, although the dog that really really wants to GO until she is out there and wants to go back in, is pretty stressful ....
DH dug out the way to the generator this morning, hope we don't need it, at this point we are pretty much "iced In"

Visiting my parents in Montreal for Easter weekend. Brought my electric guitar to take advantage of 5 days off. No power at my parents house. Mother nature throws a wrench in my plan. Driving into the city was strange. Emergency crews everywhere. Hardly any cars on the road. Trees fallen on the roads. Most areas have no power. Street lights off. Hwys dark. Looks like this will be an Easter to remember. Time to start a fire. Happy Easter Everyone! :jumpy: :bunnyhop: :chicks:

At least there was enough warning on the weather, so we could prepare.
some of our neighbors are still without power..
We had a spruce down beside the house in May, and now there is a Maple on top of it......

Good morning everyone. Still no power here. We have been running the generator in the mornings to run the well pump, to brew our morning coffee and turn on internet connection to get caught up on news etc, turn on the fridge and freezers to get them down to temp, and then switch banks to run the hot water tank, followed by the mini split to heat the house up again. And again in the evening for fridge, freezers, tea, heat, water tank. We haven't been running it overnight, to save on gas and noise. Hydro's current estimate for getting power back here is 1:00 pm today. Fingers crossed. Yesterday I had to go into the office because our internet was down since about noon the day before. The morning commute took 2 1/2 hours and the afternoon commute took 2 hours, so that was fun. We invested in our generator after the last spring power outage we had. I'm glad we did because it came in handy last summer when the power was out for 3 days over a long weekend. Seems like it's going to be an essential piece of machinery because of the changing climate. I only wish we had scraped together a little extra $$$ and bought a solar unit instead.
