Wow, a whole winters worth of snow down today! Feed store run for milk replacer, thank goodness for 4 x 4! Lots of people stuck ON the road. Drive safe everyone, or stay in if at all possible. I might finally get some use out of the snowmobile this year, even if just to haul firewood lol

hope that with a bit of light getting in that eye now that jester will figure it out and it'll heal up great-doesn't look THAT far off on the direction, the muscles and everything must be pretty tired/sore/stretched....clear cone, that's nice! at least she can kinda see through it, and not feel like she's in a tunnel! poor bug. hope everything is back to normal really soon.

well, freezing rain/fog has stopped here, so hopefully the folks east of here can get a snow reprieve in the next day or so! sounds like lots of plowing/shovelling...good luck out there!

well, even calling in sick work can't leave me alone. so i guess i better deal with the fires....i won't be going tomorrow either i swear the only thing keeping me alive right now is hot liquids, halls and the humidifier...i am so glad the evening chores are done, everyone is happy, healthy and set for the night (except the horses, they're annoyed about not getting their beet pulp tonight-they don't need that at -2), and the dog that really wanted to eat the turkey eggs i found in the barn. yes, they are still laying-found a couple frozen split ones from the weekend cold, but they never missed a day.

alright. hope everyone has a safe night!! stay warm!

Hey WLLADY , on your description (subscript) you have (marans 5 eggs)
What does that mean?

Jester, she's a tough cookie.

its the color scale on the maran egg chart Baron.

So hydrostatic lawnmower wasnt fast enough but I still gave all the kids a few rides, laps around the field, they had a blast but I wasnt happy enough.

grabbed the lawn tractor... a bit faster but crazy bumpy i just couldnt handle it, my bones were shaking and it still wasn't fast enough. but I still gave each kid a lap around the field.

then I get out the mini bike, a little red Baja with the most annoying motor in history... cant adjust the carb and wont run right no matter what I try... have to leave the choke half open so it will purr and stay running. well I cant get it going. clean the gastank n put fresh gas in then pull the darn pull cord right out of it on about the 50th pull. well its official im done with that crappy motor... time to upgrade to a briggs!

yep baron, al is correct. it's the colour of the eggs on the official maran's egg colour chart. i get solid 5s from the girls on both my wheaten and black tailed buff marans lines. I also get a few 6s, but the majority are 5s. just answers the question before it's asked. ;-P

still feeling decidedly crappy.
al, your kids are soooo lucky! so, next year, groom yourself a trail around the field, and then go for broke LOL.
