Hi Kenya! we were having trouble weighing them when we slaughtered our first 3 last month. a 2 year old and 2 6ish month olds, Lizzie thinks the buck was about 8Lbs dressed, I have a pic of him, hes huge. the smaller ones were not much smaller, maybe 6.5 lbs dressed but these are only guesses. I think they are bigger, our food scale was too small and I broke my fish scale so we didnt have any way to weigh them. They are bigger than your average coop cat. We had 3 meals from that one rabbit, roasted rabbit, rabbit stew and then rabbit pot pie and he was absolutely delicious!

Conejo con salsa almendras! Delicious creamy sauce with almonds. We had it in the Pyrenees with wild rabbit. Nice looking chap. My Dad used to raise NZ whites during and after WW2.

thanks KB n Kenya! I forgot about another scale I have. cant get more accurate than this scale. its certified by the crown. It's such an old Canada Post scale that I have not been able to find another like it. I have been told that it might be in antique books as he recognized it.

Lizzie has one of the youngsters thawing, 4 9/16 Lbs. not bad I dont think. We'll see how far this one will go.

In the UK there was a time when nobody would eat rabbit after some genius introduced myxomatosis to the wild population to control them. SImply a ghastly way to go and it took a while for people to gt back to it.

First meal, wood stove slow roasted rabbit. Pulled n assemble as you wish. rabbit gravy, home fries and onion rings deep fried in sunflower oil with some fresh buns, of course all gluten free. So I had 2 open faced hot bunny sandwiches, some poutine and a few onion ring. mmmmm hmmmm
