ANY QUILTERS Here?
My quilting turned into a nitemare for my hubby.
We were City folk ( born & raised ) & I got a hankering for chickens.
I wanted to move from Toronto to a place I could have poultry - but hubby didn't.
My Traditional quilting, turned mean.
I went on a mission ~ EVERY quilt had a chicken on it.
Even a self portrait with CHICKENS!
Finally I got my little farm with chickens ( TEN YEARS LATER! )
Now I want to make even MORE chicken quilts!
My next mission is to have GOATS...but I will have to figure out a NEW way to convince him.
I just don't think hubby will cave as easy the second time.
Here is a quilt I made of my rooster "Fonzy"

Re: ANY QUILTERS Here?
wow! that's beautiful!
i used to quilt, not big ones....just little ones-kid size/crib size. then i started doing coasters for the table for under pots....birds like cardinals and stuff. i never really knew i wanted or liked chickens until after that....LOL. then i ran out of time for quilting. but i love the homemade handmade quilts. i have 1 queen sized made by a mennonite family we used to get maple syrup from when i was young, and another that my step mom and dad gave me one year. i can never have enough of them! maybe i'll start up again, after i get soap making out of my system. LOL

My mother makes quilts, I help put it together or cut pieces but no sewing for me. Nice job!

That's gorgeous! I tried quilting in my younger years, but gave it up around the fifth time I sewed the square I was working on to my own clothing. Figured it wasn't meant to be LOL

Re: ANY QUILTERS Here?
Thanx for all the wonderful comments!
There are SO many of the Chicken quilts, that are packed away.
Will post some of the others when I have time to dig them up.
Thanx again (*o*)

Very nice, love the rooster.
Got back to quilting after 30 years, now quilting for grandchildren, the second one is closest I got to a "farm theme".

SWEEEEET!!!!
LUV the colors of your STAR quilt!!! :running-chicken:
The center panel on your Yellow quilt really does look "Country"
Nothing cosier than a quilt, eh?
I have been on a 3 year hiatus....because of renovations.
Just got my sewing room back this summer.
SEW do you know what is your next project?
I have too many ideas & not enough time.
Planned to quilt today but instead scrubbed out chicken dishes.
Have to take advantage of the Spring weather!!!
