Good Morning!
Basically this is your fault OC. He saw that first hen at your place and drooled a fair bit. Way past worrying about addiction though! They are acting like a pair of little princesses though, must be the genetics.Ontario Chick wrote:QR_BBPOSTI hope Joan added the Tag that's supposed to be attached to these birds when they go to a new home?Killerbunny wrote:QR_BBPOST Thanks to Joan for the 2 beautiful Black Ameraucana pullets she brought tonight. It's hubby's birthday and he was very taken with a Black Hen at OCs. Same bloodlines and nice Joan could make it happen!
You know the one that says... "Caution may case addiction" ?

Good Morning!
Yes, all the girls are with Pierre, who is seemingly more than up to the challenge despite the time of year. Kronk is in with them too, but although he *thinks* he's old enough to mount a hen, the girls and Pierre disagree. He really has no idea yet what it is exactly that he's supposed to do. He's a special, special boy LOL. If Pierre sires a boy that I keep, he will be called JustinKillerbunny wrote:QR_BBPOST Will these be by Pierre?

Good Morning!
good morning everyone! well, glad it's sunday, because if it were monday i would be way late for work......already 1C. let the layers out this morning. supposed to be 4C today, and with the blue sky here (hope it stays) it's going to be nice and warm! looks like cooler weather coming on tuesday though. down to -15 or so at night. kill off those pesky mosquitos! and ticks!
had a couple folks come and pick up our "free to a good home" sofas yesterday! yay! now i'm in search for a nice long cabinet/bookshelf type thing for the wall under where the sofa used to be. at least 95 inches long (or 2 units that make up 95 inches) and 41 inches tall (give or take). finally getting things moved around the way we want them. also have to find some replacement sheathing for my greenhouse. the wind blew the window in the roof out AGAIN, and seeing as this is the 3rd time, i am not putting another window in. so. minor annoyance. it's too early to have the greenhouse up and running anyways, it's not heated LOL.
well, guess i should get moving, slow morning for me here today....lots to do. hay to the horses, farm sitting chores, paddock to clean up while it's thawed, chickens to move (new breeding pens to set up). oh, my hubby went bunny hunting yesterday (still open!) and came back with a very nice not too little bunny! yay! i think my old lab was just showing up the younger kangaroo dog....lol. anyways, bunny in the crockpot! smells wonderful. hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!
Its a gloriously sunny warm/cool day, with the ever present breeze/wind. Nice if your dressed for it.
Finally got to the barn, and did the birds, everyones water pail/container complete clean out, fresh/feeders filled. Cleaned out a few pens yesterday, and swept, so the barn smells and looks great.
Bedded the cows, and then seen Gary was moving round bales of straw from the hayshed to the yard, so cleaned up the barn floor some, and opened the big door. Its usually stopped up with square bales and feed bags to keep the wind from coming under the door. Let the layers outside. Nice day for that, although I see TWO fresh piles of feathers up in my yard here... where something has plucked a pigeon for lunch. Good hawks, when they take them down. BAD when they get my chickens.
Then bedded the front part for the slaughter calves. Came in for a coffee, then out to bring as much wood to the porch as I could. Then helped split and stack more. Wet stuff of course, cover up the dryer stuff. Sigh.
Gary is 65 in March, and I've sent away his old age and CPP papers. Hes NOT doing snowplowing next year, so hopefully we can do wood ON time. This crap we split today is half rotten, saturated/WET! Good for next year. Why they can't find a deader dryer tree to burn now is beyond me.
Got house work to do... both bathrooms mainly, but too nice to do that. So... when the rain starts and turns to snow tomorrow, making it yucky for outside work... will be a housework day.
Tonight is a fat superbowl party feast with chili (two kinds... hot and not), hot dogs.... and chicken wings.... and Jalpapeno poppers I froze last fall.... and a huge shrimp platter, that we bought EONS ago, and keep forgetting to get it out... like at Christmas and stuff.... Its out in my fridge now... so I'd better remember it. I personally don't care for that stuff. Anyhow, its at Son Dave's house.. and her family will be there. Then cake and ice cream for dessert, her dads birthday was a few days ago. So, I haven't had much to eat today, lol.
Resting my aching ASS right now. Coffee time!
