Well, they may be classified as young roosters they way they chase the hens around. They have no finesse. These were the ones hatched at the end of May.
We now have 5 less roosters in "the hen house" and 2 or 3 more to go. It was a quiet afternoon until, after herding them back into the pen, DH found a red hen (go figure) in the garden. Upon putting her with the others, she was promptly chased by one of the barred rock roosters. It's no wonder the red hens have been hiding out in the barn!
