RIP Betty

Betty was a Banty Cochin and was my very first chicken. She came to live with me when she was already 18 months old. She was my first girl to lay an egg and my first broody girl. She could catch frogs like no other chicken.

Her last week was spent sitting in the sun ( well protected from the other flock members) except for her best friend, Lacey.

Betty die last night at 11 years old, she was my oldest girl.

RIP, Betty. Sounds like you had a grand chicken life, cared for by good people, and a bestie.

Was she your lovely broody hen that was a patient momma, who I saw teach her chicks where to get a sip of water?
