Welcome from Rideau Lakes!
We processed our meat chickens late summer and will be doing our 9 turkeys in two groupings in a couple of days.
Then it will be "freezer camp" for a few young roosters.

Re: In it for the food
We even got exercise at the processors. A big Tom got away from the chap ahead of us and DH and a worker had to run after it. Another chap managed to head it off. We were next and we heard Henderson yelling to the chap "careful, those things fly" he wasn't prepared for the strength of the birds. If one of ours had got away they'd have been in the trees. They did a nice job on the 10 turkeys and 6 cockerels. We also came home with a box each of their sausage and bacon!
