Not certain but we had a whole bunch of these in the marsh last year and they acted like a RWBB etc. and that's the nearest I can come up with in the bird guide!

i think it's a female red breasted grosbeak. They migrated through here late last week and hadn't yet arrived up north.....but could very well be wrong.....just the eye stripe and colour looks like it to me....

I am of the opinion that KB is right. Shnookie is in Sask. Cant tell for sure but the beak doesn't look as short and strong for seed cracking. Its over water too, as rwbb are wont to do. I meant it, not saracastic, when I said KB was smart.
