Good Morning! <=2017
Good Morning!
Happy Anniversary Kathy & Martin! From both of us.
Barronrenfrew- Sounds like a great time to me! We got married outside in the garden at City Hall, had lunch then went home in a limo.. Just our parents, one friend and our youngest boy with us.

Good Morning!
Thanks you guys!!!
And soooo much wisdom on this board. And not just for chickens....
We eloped (in London). We did the minimum celebration possible. With my family in Germany and Kathy's all over North America it was kind of impossible to all get together and make/keep everyone happy. So, we decided to not have a party. 1 witness and the 2 of us, that was all there were. We had smaller parties afterwards when we saw the respective parts of the family.
baronrenfrew, we also didn't get any debt that way. And I can honestly say there is truth in the saying: "In 5 years, is anyone going to remember ....?". At the beginning we got a lot of questions and particularly my mom being upset that we eloped. But a few years after, no one really cared anymore. Is that the same with full size weddings, I wonder?
Thanks again!!

Married in the bush at our horse camp near Sparta Ont . Bridal party on horse back , guests in lawn chairs in small hay field , 100 people/friends fed roast beef , taters , veggies , pies all cooked by campfire cooked by ladies /men on open fires & RV ovens . We rode off in to sunset Donna &
I along the catfish creek . Back in time for meal & big hoedown round the large campfire . Friends of ours played music , guitar & sang at ceremony , we had dream catchers & native type vows . 6 on horseback for ceremony & everyone dressed western . Fantastic time by all with 1/2dozen musicians , guitars , fiddle banjoes & singers . Even the preacher & his wife had a hoot . Got it all on tape .

Good Morning!
Thanks guys! yep, we eloped....the wedding was a justice of the peace, and our witnesses were both last name "smith"...my mom thought we were lying about getting married...."yeah, sure bet your witnesses were smiths weren't they??!" um....yes, actually they were!!!
a whole 200$ including taxes. no debt
and best of all, no drama during....(that all happened afterwards! ha ha) andrew and nikki showed up in a convertible VW (yes, in february freezing rain) and drove us there, we arrived 20 minutes early, were married and out the door for a pub lunch before our allotted time (JOP was early too). we even drove through sprinkbank park in london with the top down
just because. and i wouldn't have it any other way.
baron-sounds great! nice and relaxed and the way it should be, after all, the day is for the people BEING married, not the people that want to be twits during the marriage! Ross, absolutely wonderful
at both my sister's and my brother's weddings we had to get security involved because my parents are divorced, and well, should NOT be in the same country (it's almost bad enough they shouldn't share the planet...) together (my dad lives in the USA now)....i was not going to have a repeat of that. and i'm not real girly girly, so the whole fairy tale wedding held absolutely zero appeal.
best day EVER.

Good Morning!
Same for us JP and 2 friends to witness. Married in jeans. We were sitting outside the office waiting time, getting later. Irritated lady sticks her head out and says "where ARE the bride & groom we're late"! Woman nearly fell over. No ring, we had not much money so I had a choice of motorcycle boots or wedding ring - guess which I chose. Witnesses paid the licence, absent friend in another country sent cheque for wine. Small dinner in a local hotel. No fuss or presents because we'd been living together for 9 years. We got married to come to Canada because it was easier.
Best wedding we attended was our hunting friends. CHarlenes Dad slaughtered a steer, great party (half relatives from Quebec so much dancing and singing). Everyone had to go partway through to look after animals then come back.
we hosted our friends wedding here, they got married underwater!

Good Morning!
Everyone talking sweetness and light and happily ever after I am glad for everyone. Nobody but me been on the carpet more than once? JP first time, ten years, not so great. Church and family second time, over 20 yr now, and I don't plan on anything else. I don't know anybody could put up with me and my chickens and goats and minihorse and quirks and foibles. (First one insisted we live in town, I shoulda known better but that learned me good.)
