It’s warm in the nest boxes and they don’t want to get out of bed!?

I’m happy to report my Broody came to her senses and left the box....

I have ten Embden goslings hatched and counting! The geese are still laying, and the hens are picking it up lately too, thank goodness, but lately it's a race several times a day (and night--geese are not particular about the time of day they lay eggs) to see if I can find the eggs before they're frozen solid. I lose the race most times :egg:
I guess it's time to start thinking about starting pepper seeds. I should do some today, I'm already anxious to see some green growing things. Two months to spring!

my turkeys are laying. AND fertilized. and one is going broody. argh! so i'm collecting. i'll have to set because i think i'm going to out of luck come spring....sigh. the turkeys i sold on 2 weekends ago are also laying so the fellow that got them called to see if could collect a few more to fill his incubator. given that i got 6 last night from 6 girls...well....it won't take long. and if i do it right it'll be end of february at hatch and then another month in the brooder and then hopefully the weather will be warming up some at the end of march. lol. only a month until we start thinking about maple syrup things here!

i have to apologize, because i'm 100% sure i missed posting some birthdays over the holidays. if i missed yours, i'm very very sorry, happy belated birthday!
we also had such a busy holiday that we are a bit scattered on the photo contest....so hopefully us admins will get our acts together this week LOL.

had a heated waterer for the turkeys pooch out at -10. sigh. waiting on the new one to be delivered. ah well. at least yesterday was gorgeous-we were out in the woods and did some wood cutting. tons of downed ash trees, the wood is nice and dry and the trees are starting to break off in the wind, so easy to get to, hauled out about 2 cord, maybe 3....nice to run the splitter out there so the bark and mess isn't on the grass at the house :-) sure is brisk out there this morning!!!!
