Good morning,
Another plane down - that's not good, especially since it's the second in such a short length of time.
first day since the clocks moved forward ... I'll have that much less time to get things done outside while it's still light out.Honestly, I couldn't care less about waking up in the dark, because it's only a matter of time before it will be dark in the morning again anyway. I question the point of "cutting off the top of a blanket and sewing it to the bottom, thinking that will make the blanket longer".
My Brabanter youngsters were out in their run both days this weekend, but still haven't figured out that they need to go towards the light inside their coop when the light outside starts to fade: both evenings I was responding to their 911 calls for help and depositing them inside. During the day they have no problem finding their way up and down the ramp. I noticed yesterday that their feathers seem to be a lot more black and white than they were when they first started feathering out: not much cream colour now. Strange. I wonder if they will do a juvenile molt and the cream colouring will return, or if this will be their look going forward?
I got quite a bit of, as @Ontario Chick has aptly named it, "putting away summer" stuff done this weekend, but still have more left to do. Hoping for one at least one more weekend of reasonable weather to put away the last of the stuff I don't want to have buried in snow until the spring.
