Good morning,
Another plane down in the neighborhood, it's starting to feel a bit dodgy here, I think they better build a control tower at the Carp Airport soon.
Put away the grass trimmer, while hanging it up beside the patio umbrellas realized I am putting away summer :(
DH put back laying boxes in the grow out pen, the pullets are 5 month old, so here is hoping :-)
Have a good one!

Good morning,
Another plane down - that's not good, especially since it's the second in such a short length of time.
first day since the clocks moved forward ... I'll have that much less time to get things done outside while it's still light out.Honestly, I couldn't care less about waking up in the dark, because it's only a matter of time before it will be dark in the morning again anyway. I question the point of "cutting off the top of a blanket and sewing it to the bottom, thinking that will make the blanket longer".
My Brabanter youngsters were out in their run both days this weekend, but still haven't figured out that they need to go towards the light inside their coop when the light outside starts to fade: both evenings I was responding to their 911 calls for help and depositing them inside. During the day they have no problem finding their way up and down the ramp. I noticed yesterday that their feathers seem to be a lot more black and white than they were when they first started feathering out: not much cream colour now. Strange. I wonder if they will do a juvenile molt and the cream colouring will return, or if this will be their look going forward?
I got quite a bit of, as @Ontario Chick has aptly named it, "putting away summer" stuff done this weekend, but still have more left to do. Hoping for one at least one more weekend of reasonable weather to put away the last of the stuff I don't want to have buried in snow until the spring.

Ahh yes “putting away summer “ my wife’s got about a week left at least to put away her outside ornaments set up a winter bird feeder & rearrange garbage/ recycle bins & last minute bush trimming .
Me I’m done , the deck is off the mower & the snowblower on , put away my fishing poles & tackle & out came the crossbow , shotgun & .22 a month ago. Birds already for winter .
No deer yet as some folks on here do just some squirrels . I have a secret spot to hunt deer but it’s so secret that the deer don’t even know about it I quess so I’m gonna put a DEER CROSSING sign up on the pond dam & see if that helps . Lol
Is it to soon to talk about snow & ☃️Xmas yet ? 🎅🤶

Good evening.... still hobbling around with my AirCast when outside but take it off when inside at home. Really slows down getting work done outside. And really, really makes it hard to catch an escaped turkey Tom. :(

Bad time of year but I have chicks arriving from BC on Friday. And I found two different groups of turkeys i am interested in so I might do 1 last poultry road trip for the year. There is a group of Black turkeys near Barrie I think I am going to get. And there is a group of broad beasted bronze that have reduced melanin so they have white blotches, that I am interested. But they are in Sudbury and I would probably have to use AI to breed them, which might be an interesting project.

Well, it's official: this morning Charlie confirmed that he's a boy. :-(
It was a weird high pitched two-part vocalization that sounded more like he'd bumped his head or stubbed his toe, but he repeated it when I came to see what was up, so ... :rooster-171:
The good news is that the neighbours aren't leaving their windows open at this time of year, and he isn't all that loud.
The bad news is that these two aren't even fully integrated with the others yet. sigh. Maybe he'll only crow once a day and no one will notice.
Guess which one is Charlie ...
