Finally together again...
Mactawish, 3 year old Blue Columbian Wyandotte, has spent the winter in Bachelor solitary and then was put in the breeding pen with 3 Blue hens. I know he prefers Columbians, BUT I am in charge darn it...... :)
The Blue hens knowing what's what, were not thrilled with him anymore then he was with them.
Finally some eggs collected he is back with the flock... Althoug the Blue hens still think they have some dibs on treats, Mactawish just can't help himself...... bit of dancing.... and I am pretty sure he is telling them that the Blue hens didn't mean a thing.....

Yup, I'm going to have to put Kibbles & Bits back with Chunky again. They still try to get in there sometimes.

Mactawish sure has some shapely thighs! Never thought I’d notice that on a rooster lol. They’re such beauties.

BTW OC how would you like feather-legged Wyandotte chicks ?
Actually Frank doesn't like any of the Wyandottes and makes no attempt to keep them together or safe. I think he thinks they are a touch snooty!

Well he seems to have a bit of a roving eye. Ha! You only think you're in charge, they are just leading you on.

Re: Finally together again...
I don’t have a definitive answer but I can tell you that every chick that I hatched that was 1/2 Cochin and 1/2 Barred Rock had feathered legs. Always less feathers than pure Cochins and usually naked middle toes but feathered legs and outer toes for sure.Killerbunny wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 4:09 pmBTW, just in case I get any fertile eggs out of this pen are feather legs dominant??????
