Lovely morning here. Just sat with the turkeys awhile in the paddock listening to them happily "chomping" on their food with the sun coming through the trees!

Yes! My 100ft extension cord from amazon arrived today (and an egg candler) no more frozen water bucket!
One of my orpington pullets (hen now) laid her first egg and I had to fight with her to get it! Can they be that broody right from the get go? oops probably a question for the behaviour section.

i think Garth is playing 5 shows or something in hamilton....you must be able to get tickets to at least 1 somewhere!!! hope you did!!!!

my fixed heated pet bowl works again! at least for now.....yay! i did something right!
clawton...you get that incubator fired up yet? LOL.
i got my first egg from my first final gold welbar girl. wow, i just reread that, sounds weird. okay, she is a welbar, final generation in the breeding scheme to actually GET welbars. and she is the first one that i've "made" and she laid her first egg yesterday! now she needs a legband and to move to her new pen with her dad for a little while, until the gold boy grows up some from the second line. then they go together :-) so in the spring i should be getting pure welbar kids! yay!

thawed water is a definite bonus. i bought some heated hoses (the heavy duty type) for this winter and they're AWESOME.

well, finally friday. can't wait to put my feet up (after chores) tonight and just flake out. ha ha! it's a nice dream...
here comes the weekend!!!

Nope no Garth tickets. My daughter and I both on our phones, the computer logged on to the website, three shows released and still didn't get in. We actually made it onto the phone queue.....stayed there for forty minutes and that was before they announced the third show and still didn't get in. Bummed. Now I have to go out birthday present shopping for my daughter tomorrow too.

Hope you find something rhonda. Did you check out the hamilton shows? On friday there were still tickets left for at least 2 shows....

Its sunny out!!! It is glorious!!! And my chickens actually ventured out today! They are dust bathing under the trailer. The corner between the coops and barn is in full sun and toasty warm! I am going to let the turkeys out soon so i can get to work in the pens without disturbing them too much.

2 chicks head to the brooder in the barn today. And i am hoping to get the wire up on the turkey pens. Found 2 eggs this morning!!! One almost frozen so i opened it and it is fertilized. Other is on the turner until the next hatch goes for setting.

Just "helped" unload and stack 5 cords of firewood. With my back issue i think i moved about 20 pieces and then went in and made tea for the crew. Tea was good lol. At least i could do that...cant wait for march appointment.

Time to enjoy the sun....its so nice out!!! Hope everyone has a great day. And happy birthday sue!!! :HappyDance: :birthday: :drunk:
