If you love to cross country ski then hopefully you'll appreciate this picture. The best part is this is my property.
The tracks are gone now, made way for the tractor and truck and wood cutting, but it was nice for a bit when the snow was just right.

Re: Winter Tracks
Treerooted...awesome photo...it coveys the silent beauty so well...i used to ski cross coutry quite a bit but can you believe it, I found it too noisy?...so now i snowshoe...I know that a lot of people have fun on snowmobiles and other machines and tractors are used in a mostly utilitarian way, hell, I have an old Ford 2N myself that i use to get stuff out of the bush and all sorts of work, but once the machines intrude the beauty is gone...it has always been thus, always will be....thank you for the photo... :running-chicken:

Re: Winter Tracks
I'd like to get some snowshoes too; there are plenty of days when the snow is deep but not suitable for x-country skiing.
Snowshoes might make sap collecting easier too if the snow is deep. Wasn't an issue last year.

Re: Winter Tracks
i grew up skiing cross country....i too found it noisy LOL. but it certainly is beautiful. i've just gotten back out on snowshoes this year a couple of times since my surgery, and enjoy it quite a bit. well, no snowshoing or skiing around my place now, we need snorkels and flippers with all the rain last night!
