Good morning, still raining!!!!
Poor chickens inside second day in the row, very annoying, this better be a really long lovely fall...
Have been busy, after granddaughters left, son and grandson came to stay for a week, introducing an "urban child" living in a country not friendly to dogs, this is his first introduction.
You will note that very wisely he started from the non-biting end.

good evening everyone! wow, the wind is roaring out there, scary wind, and huge black clouds moving in, and i bet we have thunderstorms brewing...at least my weather radio says we are under a severe thunderstorm warning....closed up the sheds and barn already. have 2 youngsters with turkey moms doing great, i think both jennies, and there's another baby under the latest 2 to set...just hatched this morning. so put in the chick feeder and waterer. may need to separate those girls and poults....we shall see. there were about 15 eggs under the 2 of them, so probably will hatch a few more, just 1 out right now. will check later tonight again, and tomorrow, and tomorrow evening and wednesday lol. fingers crossed.....
finally back home after all the travelling and driving. wow. the 401 is not fun to drive anymore, bumper to bumper 125 km/hr. unbelievable. no wonder there are big bad accidents now....pileups. no one leaves any space any more! first time ever that i have driven 4 hours and never touched the right lane except to enter and exit the highway. the rest of the time was left lane, and unable to move right. the traffic was stupid silly! a side trip to vermont with "real driving"....beautiful highways with virtually no traffic! that was really really nice. now "real life" begins again. always nice to be home. the chickens i think are happy we are home too. horses came and said hi.....wondered if i had food, like always. lol. dogs are back from boarding and happy to be home, and the cats were clingy for about 3 days! finally getting eggs again from the chickens. the folks looking after the place were complaining they were only getting 2-3 eggs a day! we got home and within 2 days we were getting 12-15 eggs a day.....um.....hm.

i don't know OC that dog looks really stressed and dangerous! :-) bet they ended up playing together....lol.
well, swim time for me. been cleaning up the workshop today, was to the point that we couldn't move in there again....somehow....it needs to be cleaned up every 6 months or so. almost done, just the omnipresent buckets of old screws and stuff to sort and put away. and....have to go and close the windows, just starting to rain here. bigtime!

I'm guessing that was me. I updated an extension yesterday that needed all caches on the server being cleared, too. Hopefully it's better now.

SPoke too soon, not a big deal though.
Heck of a night here, very windy and rainy. DH is on vacay so we are staying in our pop up trailer at home. I think people think it's odd but I sleep better in it than indoors!
Well pressure tank quit yesterday melting the pressure switch along the way but all fixed now. Good job it didn't quit earlier when I had a houseful of friends for the weekend.

Yikes KB! that sucks! glad it's all fixed now.....it's always something isn't it?
I don't think you are weird...i sleep very well in a lawn chair on my porch. better than inside!

have a bad bumblefoot on one of my older hens. got a lot of it out last night, but she finally lost patience so i packed it with antibiotics and vet wrapped and will have to have another go at it today. sigh. she's a big heavy 2 year old welbar, and when i say "heavy" i mean built like a brick, totally solid. probably 8 pounds or so, definitely got the welsummer size in her. i will see how it goes tonight, she only bit me once last night, which surprised me given how long we worked on her. hopefully the antibiotics will help loosen stuff up over the day. she lands like a bomber off the roost, so i may end up moving their roost down a foot or so....

wow. busy busy since getting back. I just found 1/2 x 1/2 inch 50 foot rolls of welded wire on sale half price at TSC! today only for people that are subscribers to the TSC emails....whoohoo! i need 3 rolls to finish changing the screens in the doors in the loft. the screen on them now is wearing out, and too small and traps all the dust. So hubby will get screws today at the hardware store and i'll pick up the wire, and that will be a good winter-ish project.

tried to see northern lights last night but it was actually thunderstorming when we headed to bed. woke up a few times and the full moon was so bright there were shadows on the ground and i couldn't even see stars. LOL. ah well. maybe next time.
back to grant applications at work, full day planned just on the computer. fun fun. hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning,
Foggy here again, so no Northern lights for us again.... darn, it's such an amazing spectacle.
Woke up this morning to some desperate cries of abandonment from the chicken run, while scanning for a chicken possibly left out overnight found a juvenile turkey, apparently they can also find a way over a fence only ONE WAY...
went to chase it out only to find the rest of them in the back run, so first had to re-unite the single one and then try to get the rest of them over a four foot fence, yelling FLY you are a bird....... although they seemed to have some doubts, I could have caught any number of them by hand, if it wasn't that I didn't have gloves and was wearing my PJs, you know the poultry keepers emergency uniform. ;)

Lol: poultry keepers emergency uniform? Mine is a pair of white underwear, rubber boots, and a shotgun, and maybe a headlamp. Carla says I look great like that in the moonlight! (My undwear glowed in the dark)
