:Shark: I third! All the westerners and centrals that found Eastern ON too far to travel last year, have gone very quiet on the matter now that the ball is in their park  :D

Okay. i'm sitting here and trying to anticipate our summer. my dad has stage 4 pancreatic cancer, i MUST visit him this summer but that will likely be in june. I also finally feel well enough after surgery (that was another unknown). what i don't know is what weekend....yet. but martin and i have been talking about hosting at our place for one day on a weekend sometime. I need to figure out my holidays, and time to see my dad, and time from work (since i was off for just over 3 months after the surgery)-assuming i get back to full time successfully by mid june. It's too bad that we have toronto in the way, otherwise travel would be much nicer! i will likely need to drop the horse fence on the one paddock so we have room for people that want to stay and get together the numbers for the local B&Bs....there's a camp ground not too far away as well. we can accommodate a few tents/trailers if needed but hydro hookups would be an issue. so tentatively i can say that we can host it here, but i need a couple more weeks to figure things out. My dad is currently moving and incommunicado, and i need to talk with him about when he's going to be available....i would suggest a long weekend so people can travel, either the weekend of June 30-July 1, or august 5-6-7...or....i'll post a poll.

FYI this is between London and Chatham-close to Glencoe, West Lorne just north of the 401.....and Bear Creek cheap gas :-)

Don't feel pressured to have it at your place
You have been through enough and still have a lot on your plate!
I'm sure others will understand

Nah, we'll do it.....but we all may need to be a bit flexible in the scheduling.
i'm putting up a vote for the weekend....plus really-you guys will bring a lot of food and drink and we'll have food and drink and propane and a bbq, and if it rains we have a big barn, and if y'all get out of hand there's a river nearby to dunk y'all in. :-)
hey, you want to fish, bring your gear! it's a mucky muddy stinky river, but there's good channel cats and carp!
and if anyone gets really out of line, they can be put to work mucking the field, spreading manure and weeding the garden! LOL
now, if anyone has a burning desire to have it at their place, just let me know-otherwise we can host.

Parks Blueberries is not too far from us too and should be in full swing! it's worth stopping there for pie and tea/coffee.....
and there's a B&B in glencoe-Victorian Pines that is very nice. plus we have lots of floor space, a couple couches and 1 guest room and a futon in a space upstairs.

If I come, can I sleep in the barn with the turkeys? I miss my silly turkeys!!!!

Would love to come but just about to start a new job so very uncertain of any time off especially on weekends....
