Cheers to all teachers! In the old days if a kid acted up at school, you called the parents and they chewed the kid out. Now the parents come in and chew the teacher out.
And a dozen other ways its tougher today.

Good morning everyone!!
A little snow falling here already....
finally rearranged the house again after surgery. The spare bed is back to storage and out of the livingroom, the computer set back up on a desk in the office, the table and sofa back to where it should be. The woodstove is accessible, and we had a nice fire last night. Nice to be getting things back to normal again. Looking at going back to work in a couple of weeks, actually 2 weeks today! Will be good i think....start back slowly probably...
was out on the weekend to do a food run with hubby and we discovered a pothole-that was not fun. Took about a day to settle down in my back again. Sigh. But on the whole much better than i was.
Made some sourdough starter-smells amazing, thinking about using some and seeing if i can make cinnamon buns....or something. Kneading bread is still out. And i dont think i even know where the bread maker is....or if i can even get it onto the counter. So i better not even try. Lol

Dont forget to enter your photos to the april photo contest!!!! Theres still a couple of days...

Stay safe in the snow everyone, hopefully it sneaks south of us all....

When I was in elementary school, I had a teacher who was an asshole. My mother said that I would have to find a way to get along with her, as I would meet a lot of people like that in my life. She was right!

Morning/afternoon
WLLady so glad to hear you're doing well enough to get things back to normal! I'm hoping for my much snow today since I'm on my own for snow removal and hauling wood. Hubby is away for work.
Jim funny story for you about a teacher I had in grade 4. He was very "out of the box" for his times! Among other things he had us create our own money we called Starbucks (after the huge Buck Rogers movie). We got a weekly allowance and bonuses for special grades or best "citizen" of the week but also had to pay desk rent and utility fees and got fined for late assignments. He called on us to open our minds on things in current events like the boat people stand-off. His class wasn't easy but we learned so much from him.
I was working for a retail store as an area manager and was in my Huntsville location a few years ago. An older gentleman asked me for help finding something so I assisted him and as I was walking away I realized he seemed familiar. After staring at him from a distance for several minutes I approached him and said excuse me are you Mr. Rose? He said yes. Brian Rose the teacher? Yes who are you? I said oh boy I'm about to make you feel very old but you taught me Grade 4 at Herb Campbell public school. He got a huge grin and said ok don't tell me....After a few seconds he said "Freddy?" Lol he remembered my nickname! We had a long chat about what we were both doing now and I met his wife and I told him what an impact he had on me and all that I remembered from his class. He was by far my favorite teacher and I hope that hearing that from me meant something even if it came years after his retirement. It was such an odd chance meeting since prior to that the last time we had met was almost 35 years ago and probably 400 KMS away.
It's teachers like Mr. Rose and like Jim that see the kids as individuals with many talents outside of just memorizing "stuff" that make an impact. Good on you Jim. Enjoy your well deserved week off!

Kids just erected a massive tower that didn't prematurely fall on them before I got a pic! Figured I should share their accomplishment, they have been trying for 2 days now. They used every mega block on the house.

Putting things back must be a nice change and good for the spirit, potholes are deadly, it was a year before I could hit a small bump in the road without lifting in my seat in anticipation of painful jarring, and my fusion was nothing compared to yours.
Hope you are going to start work on short days first, it's going to be pretty tiring.
Glad you are doing so well. :coolguy:
