Diligently follow the path of two swords as one. Percieve that which the eye cannot see. Seek the truth in all things. Do not engage in useless activity.

I quite drinking 4.5 years ago, that was super easy and I never had another drink again. I wish quiting smoking would be that easy. I was down to 4 smokes a day last week there and Lizzie brought me home more. I wish she didnt. oh well I'm going to give it another go here and wean myself off. I havent bought smokes at a real store in years and instead buy the legal (duty paid) ones of the Reserve. $38 a carton, 10 packs of 20, last 12 days give or take, much cheaper and they dont have the added chemicals. but that dont matter, my kids, my heath and living to a ripe old age is why I want to quit. I have lots to do and lots to keep me busy. when I quite drinking I put all that extra money into new tools, my boat, and the birds, now a days I have no idea how I used to afford to drink so much, the price of everything has skyrocketed except for the money people make. I started smoking when I was 18, quit once for 6 months and then started again after a very stressful event, I wish I didnt! I'm 34 now so thats 16 years. I find it rather frustrating that smoking and drinking are legal even though they are killers and other things that are completely natural and actually help people, instead of killing them are not. bass akwards.
I will quit smoking and thank you all for the motivation!

Al I'm sure no expert on this with 2 whole days under my belt but if you do quit you have my full support.
I had been waiting for the urge to quit to hit me for years. It never really came...I had to force myself.

I quit a number of years ago and I still like that fact that I can just go out without having to calculate if I have enough cigarettes, a lighter or matches for however long I was planning on being out.

Start counting the benefits...
from Mayo Clinic,
Within 20 minutes of quitting, your blood pressure and heart rate decrease. Within one year, your risk of heart disease is half that of a smoker. Within 15 years, your risk of heart disease is similar to someone who never smoked.

Lol yes life is certainly easier! Far less planning involved! I was excited about the silliest thing yesterday. I was always stumbling around in the dark when I woke up to find socks to put on so I could immediately take dogs out and go out for a smoke. I hate socks. Yesterday morning I realized I don't need them...I just let the dogs out and went about loading the wood stove and making coffee. I'm a creature of routine and had it all down pat to accomodate smoking. Now I'm working on new routines and finding it quite freeing. I seem to have more hours in the day.Eggsaggerate wrote:QR_BBPOST I quit a number of years ago and I still like that fact that I can just go out without having to calculate if I have enough cigarettes, a lighter or matches for however long I was planning on being out.

OC the drop in blood pressure may explain the head spins I'm getting lol. Mine was on the low side to begin with!
WLLady congrats! 4K is awesome :)
