Good Morning!
I have a cottontail living on our place since we fenced. Comes around the coops and eats some chicken feed. Guess he feels safe from predators except when he got into the turkey pen and they tried to hunt him down as a pack - not kidding folks!

Good Morning!
My sister has 100 acres..the centre is a wooded valley around a creek and surrounded by corn or soy field. So Trevor and Lisa and boys were given permission to hunt (blue egg silkie thread). Lisa got her first deer 8 points 350 pounds...largest deer in the county of Renfrew. She then went for blackpowder at her cousins place and let bucks go by...she thought they were too skinny. Talk about spoiled!

Good Morning!
Good morning,
Snowing this morning and it looks like a messy day coming up.
I am slowly coming up for air, but DH still in charge of the barn, so today when he was going out, asked him for his assessment of the growing out cockerels and also on the roosters.
Got back the "dear in the headlights" look, so repeated the request ( about which we talked about earlier ) and he said OH, I thought you wanted me to look under the roosters? so not holding my breath on what I am getting.
Garden Club meeting tonight on edible landscaping, pretty interesting subject, but weather will probably keep me at home.
Have a good one and stay safe.

Good Morning!
Im hoping for both! haha and thanks Bobbi! those turkeys are something else. I spent the day in the bush getting wood, yup in this windy snowish lotta rain crap LOL. I had to while the ground is still frozen... anyways. those turkeys were crossing the field from that bush over to the one I was working in while I was driving my supped up 40 year old Case lawn tractor... its my tractor LOL. Any ways those turkeys kept coming didnt care that I was there at all, so I turned and started driving towards them. they still didnt care. I got about 40 yards away and they still didnt care so I stopped the tractor, turned it off and they were still coming. LOL what the heck is wrong with these birds??? I get off the tractor and they took off like lightning running and flying back to the other bush. I busted the biggest gut ever LMAO! I dont think I will ever understand turkeys, wild or domestic. LOL
So I got about 2 cords out of the bush today, a very nice haul I think and was very proud of myself.
its not cut or split just logs brought up to the house to be finished. got the logs all nicely stacked, put the tractor and everything else away at about 5:30pm, just in time for supper. I went to grab my phone to check PTO and IT WAS GONE!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! my phone is the samsung galaxy rugby, about 5 years old now and its takin a beating, the best phone ever. waterproof or at least it used to be. I have lost the cover for the charging port so it isnt waterproof anymore. I was a bit devastated. I had Lizzie call it and it was still ringing, I had hope. grabbed her phone, a headlamp and started walking and calling. I traced my steps and tracks all the way to the furthest point I went into the bush and FOUND IT! UNHARMED! not sitting at the bottom of a puddle ran over by tire chains and squashed in the mud! I lost it one other time like this, ran over (without tire chains) and in the bottom of a puddle. it was water proof then. these are the best phones ever! to bad if I want to replace it I need to find one on eBay or something. I got back home about 6:30 to homemade macaroni and cheese with BACON! MMMMMMMMM
I'm sitting, I'm sore, and I'm full! have a great night all!!!

Snow and now freezing rain outside right now, will be interesting to see what it looks like in the morning.
I caught my weasel last night, he came back for more quail. Hopefully no more around.
