Hard to believe its still morning!! Got up too early I guess. Out to the barn, chores... and then stacked some wood from the pile thats been sitting waiting for me. Its been added to twice.. so I guess its time.

Horrid North wind blowing, but I was warm!! Amazing. Its that DAMP milder air that makes me cold.

I fed the birds. That took a long time. I brought each feeder into the porch to fill out of the wind. I started the quad, and kept it running. Took me a while to start, hoping I wasn't going to kill the battery. Then I drove it to the end of the lane and back... and boy, it was cold on my face. Then I came into the house for a hot pail of water to add to the bird water dish.... it had ice all around the outer circumference. They appreciate a nice drink. They were fluttering all around me, landing ON the feeder, while I was hanging it back up... and then realizing I was right there, took off again. Those were the chickadee's. Fairly easy to train to eat out of your hand anyhow. I got them doing it back the lane at the cabin a few winters ago.

Gary got called to go in to plow/salt. Winds are likely causing havoc on certain hwy's. We got about 3 cm of snow overnight. Blowing good.

So, I came inside and am sitting by the fire, and freezing. Sheesh. Butt wasn't cold outside, but sure is now sitting in this leather chair, RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE STOVE!!

Going to bake some awesome cookies soon. I need a hot drink first. Maybe some food. Had bacon and eggs for the first time here in a long time yesterday. Last time was at WLLady's..... and can't remember the last time here I cooked that.

Piled the porch with wood yesterday too... and seems I am summoned to babysit tonight for Melissa. Have done abit of that over my 'break'. Back to the bus tomorrow, and morning will be especially cold, because it will be just about 6am when I get out to my bus, and try and open the hood. I plugged it in not too long ago, and tried the hood... but it was froze somewhere. I want to maybe run it later, and see if I can get it open. I guess I will have to start it without checking the oil first.

Snow predicted for tomorrow/rain snow for Tues. Nice crappy weather for driving in now. Of course.

It is cold! That is all I have to say. Been fighting with the wood stove and frozen waterers and worst of all frozen poop that won't let me open the pen doors. I can only find one glove and I left my boots on the porch overnight...filled with snow now. 6 dozen eggs frozen in the fridge in our self serve shed...think that is all I have to complain about for now.

Good afternoon, just got home late last night from my sister-in-laws in Toronto, 401 was closed for along time due to multi-car accident yesterday. Cold here today, a "bitter" welcome home from 9 days in Costa Rica.

I had someone look after my birds when I was gone, quick checked last night everyone looked good, go out today 8 dead quail, looks like a weasel got into my quail shed. :( Traps set.

Back to unpacking and laundry.

Good Morning!

good afternoon everyone! aw jim that sucks! hope you catch the bugger!!!!

i finally caught up on all the posts that happened while i was away getting my back fixed. i love this forum, it is my sanity. I'm sooooo BORED! gah! there's only so much time i can spend laying down, walking, sitting, walking, sitting, walking, sitting, physio-ing gently and then doing it all again. whoohoo.
i'm up and walking and nerves are healing (argh! that feels like little crawly things under my skin where they're healing!). i finally can independently control each of the major muscle groups in my legs! my right one is a long time coming back from being numb. i have to go and find my heating pad sometime. i can get up the stairs, and back down again if i hang on for dear life. LOL. walking is getting better too which is nice. maybe this week coming up i'll graduate to walking on the treadmill a bit. the circles through the house is, well, the scenery doesn't change much. at least i can put a movie on if i use the treadmill! if you want income buy shares in steristrips! last of the bandages are off, and now it's like a package and a half of steristrips down my back LOL. nice that it's all healing up finally. FINALLY. can't wait for the first shower where i can just stand in the water and get SOAKED. hopefully by the end of the week! steristrips need to stay on till wednesday or thursday or so.
yay! the ONLY thing that is irritating beyond belief is i cannot get my socks on! and i had the fun on standing on a piece of glass one day (from a broken glass-long story) and couldn't reach to get the glass out, and had to wait until hubby got home....he finally got it out. thank goodness. sheesh. i'm my own worst enemy it seems. oh, and grabbers have issues picking cellphones up off the floor when they land flat......it was an interesting 10 minute problem solving session....LOL

i cannot wait to get back out to see the barn again! i managed to get there once last week. maybe when it warms up this week coming up. i swear the smell of hay got me through a couple of days. my hubby has been absolutely amazing in doing the chores....he even came in the other day with a photo on his phone of some chicken :poop: asking "is this normal or do i need to treat them for something". the horses are happy, and well fed, and i don't think they have even realized i'm not there...sigh. i'll see them soon.
have to admit it is kinda nice being inside watching all *that* blow past the window outside. but i'm sure not used to being this lazy! hoping the healing starts in earnest real fast, follow up in 3 or so weeks...i cannot see going back to work in feb. i can't even see driving until end of march. as a passenger! we'll see. slow and steady they say. i just want to be out there with everyone in the barn soon. LOL
