Good Morning!
You know you're Canadian when EVERY conversation includes a comment about the weather.
Margaret Atwood did the Massey Lectures and her topic was debt. And Canadians will say "nice weather! We'll pay for this later."

Good Morning!
Good morning!
Clouds they are gathering and it looks a bit ominous, so I guess the time to "pay up" is now.
I do like the "Dead people's stuff" I thought it very appropriate and realistic.
Some changes in PEC are a bit disappointing, the Cafe with amazing coffee and French pastries under new management sells variety of "bowls" of been/grain and other mysterious mush but guaranteed to be glucose free?
The French restaurant with Austrian pastries in Bloomfield is now an "Eatery",
I guess that too is evolution, but I would prefer some things just stay the same for a while yet.
Off to pick some red crabapples in the local park, which used to be a homestead and some of the apple trees still survive.
See if I can grow some from the seeds and what I get, always an adventure.
Have a good one!

Good Morning!
Cash (my dog) is getting older and finally showing that middle aged lab spread lol. Couple years ago first snow fall would have elicited laps around the yard...now I guess hes scared of tearing another ACL!

Good Morning!
Meant to get this up earlier but have had a lot going on this week. Anyway, it's Race 4 from this past Monday at Ajax Downs. Chantelle had one of our 2 yr olds, Butterscotch Riple, in for her first race. The filly's barn name is Snowflake and we didn't think she'd be racing this year because she had been very growthy looking through the spring and early summer. As the summer wore on, her training was coming along well and then her training trips at the track were really good. She was showing exceptional talent and coming out of her training with no issues. So she got a race in on the final day of the season at Ajax and we are quite happy with how she performed. After getting bumped coming out of the gates, she bared down and was coming on hard for a 4th place finish. She had a safe and solid race and now gets to relax until next spring when we anticipate that she will be really coming into her own. Snowflake is in the #7 hole in the race video.

Good Morning!
WOW dean! if she hadn't been bumped she would have been a serious contender on her first time out!!!!! I'm very very very impressed!!! That's great!
Beautiful morning (yep baron, another weather post!). The sliver of a new moon was incredible....and sun today. thank goodness! Might warm the barn up some.
Well, horses were brats last night. First time in 6 years....the grass was apparently greener on the OTHER side of the fence while i was moving hay last night. so 4000 pounds of horses decide they want to go and see what is down the road-in the ravine, and well, wow, CORN too! bonus! gah. molly snuck by the tractor while i was coming through the gate (i still don't know how because the tractor is 8 feet, the gate is 10 feet and she's over 2 feet wide, and never touched the electrics). Anyways, i wasn't fast enough to get the gate clear and closed before ted nipped out-because molly was out! and he can't possibly be in the field by himself, mr "herd bound beyond belief", and well....i grabbed the atv and a bucket of feed and a couple ropes and caught up with them at the end of the driveway (1/2 km from the house) and got molly (i tell ya, a bucket with feed in it, thinking with her tummy, always)-she actually was relieved. oh thank goodness, a person i recognize-i don't know where ted is taking me but i wanna go home but i don't know where home is....help? once i had her ted will follow her anywhere, so back up the driveway to the field. got them back in, then had to walk all the way back to get the atv. gah. glad my injections were monday and i CAN walk again....sigh. not a happy camper (just ask BVF....LOL). jerks. JERKS. Actually JERKS!!!!. They knew they were bad and sucked up the whole time i was doing chores....yeah...no leeway here buddies....gah. i can't blame them, the ditch grass is the BEST, and it's still growing....but come on. really? like you are seriously starving??! sheesh. of course this morning, meet me at the stall door, whatchadoing? did you have a good night? we're sorry bout last night. carrots?
animals.
horses.
well, onwards with the day! steroid headache can leave now. been there since monday afternoon. but things are working pretty well in my back. still a bit sore around the edges, but at least i slept last night. and i think i have stopped shaking quite as badly. Hopefully good enough to install turkey pens this weekend. which i've been trying to get done for the last month! looks like summer coming back for a week! 20C on saturday? going to be deer hunting in shorts! it's going to be nice
hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Morning!
Thanks for the picture DL, being on a dial up I never see the videos, so just a taste of things is nice! :)
A bit of wet white came down yesterday, I guess just a reminder of all the things still waiting to be put away :)
