The gov't is passing a law end of this year that disallows you to buy and give antibiotics to animals without vet script... So unsure if TSC etc will stop selling abx over the counter without a script or what..
Kenya- I believe they did pass out something like this is EU, unsure about the states though.. Health Canada is pushing it here.
I recommend stocking up now, if you are so inclined..

Good Morning!
Good day! Went to the fair after I finished in the barn to see Mason in the baby show... but missed it by a hair. I was just parking my vehicle, when he was judged. Apparently, he stood as he was held in front of them, smiled away... and even coo'd. lol. So many baby boys there today. He didn't place. Oh well. Hes first to everyone else tho.
So... had another bacon on a bun for lunch.... and came home. Melissa and Scott showed up... and then we went for a golf cart ride to run the dogs... and got some more squash from the patch. Gave some to Jeremy and Melissa to take home. I've got my stash under my couch now, lol. Washed it, soaked it in bleach water for about 5 minutes, and lay them by the woodstove.
We did get a frost last night, but it didn't touch down on the ground... so the garden was saved today. The roof's on the houses at the road were white tho. It was very breezy... north wind.. so I think thats what saved us. Tonight is supposed to go down low again, so maybe tonight. Good thing, I never did get up to pick peppers. Melissa took some home today tho. They've invited us back for a thanksgiving pizza supper, lol. Too busy with the fair/farm to make a big dinner. Maybe I will take one of my turkeys out tomorrow, and have it next Saturday.
Melissa and I took some pumpkins that we just cut... and a bale of straw and went to the cornfield across the way to do a photo shoot with Mason. Not sure how any of those came out... the sun was in his face... and then he got grumpy. I took a few of both her and him... and then just said... forget it, lol.
I'm maybe thinking that the drug thing Bobbi is talking about may be imported Veterinary drugs used in food animals... such as chicken barns/cattle feedlots?? I tried to look something up, but thats all that I came across. Something discussed in June 2016. Not sure.
While I was at the fair... went thru the poultry display. Was kind of disgusted at some person who showed a white turkey, that wasn't very clean. The pen/shavings were... but this bird had dirt/poop all around his tail/wings... that he didn't get from there. Walked by a chicken in a cage... and noticed bloody crap there. I got the heck out of there in a hurry.

Good Morning!
Well the gang have left now so I'm cleaning. Very interesting thing though. Kelly has trouble digesting eggs however they are cooked. One of the weird things I'd heard (on the internet so it must be true) is that blue eggs are better for you LOL! Last time they were here I sent her home with the blue eggs from my Ameraucanas telling her I thought it was just an urban myth but try them. She can eat them with not trouble digesting them so go figure. She's gone home with another supply now!

I also wonder if because the bile pigments are deposited in the egg shell there may be some different type of liver metabolism going on too.

Aye, there's an old story that ameraucana eggs were "cholesterol free" and I had a friend that swore by them.

Funny you should mention that, we had a neighbour in the '70's who had hens that laid blue eggs that were "low cholesterol". As far as we could tell the only reason that was true was they were half the size of a regular egg!!!baronrenfrew wrote:QR_BBPOST Aye, there's an old story that ameraucana eggs were "cholesterol free" and I had a friend that swore by them.

Good Morning!
Well "good evening" everyone. Am feeling very blessed as had such a great Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends. Am just trying to get caught up on what's be going on here on the forum
My son did two nights of Democross at the Rockton Fair, came in 3rd. on the Friday night and 2nd on the Saturday night. Won enough money to pay his entry fees for both nights so that was good.
Two of my ex-coworkers came to Cambridge for the weekend, one now lives in NB and the other in SK so was real great to get together with them and the "old" gang from work, so was very thankful for that.
Sunday had a lovely dinner with hubby's family, my mother-in-law is 91 so am thankful that she is still with us and can enjoy it with us all. Great visit with Martin Grove Farm today am lucky to have such a great "chicken" friend.
Got some of the chickens moved to the bottom of the barn and cleaned out the empty pens up top. Unfortunately winter is coming and getting things buttoned up before it comes is always a lot of work.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving
