Good Morning!

Post by WLLady » Wed Sep 07, 2016 9:17 am

good morning all! wow. over an hour to get to work today. unbelievable traffic-and no school busses seen! today is already being a PITA, and i sure hope it gets better.....

woke up this morning IN THE DARK.....sigh. glad we have AC, so at least it wasn't hot and humid DARK, but i'm not ready for dark in the morning yet. and then down the hall to step in cat puke-all over the upstairs hallway CARPET of course! cleaned that up. to the bathroom to discover cat puke IN the food dish. awesome. complete with mouse hair ball. well, THAT explains the puke. nice. so a whole bowl of food out the door for the chickens or the coons or whatever decides to eat it.

Had dreamed of cheeping chicks last night-and they're all in the basement-so i checked BVF's eggs in the incubator this morning-they're "due" on sunday. well, yeah. quick fired up the hatcher, and moved everyone over! Half the guineas were already pipped and i swear the other half were peeping-i hope you are ready for guineas BVF!!!!! so i just locked down the whole bunch of 100+ eggs-guineas, turkeys and a few chicken eggs i added for another friend. LOL. so that put me out the door 20 minutes later than usual, but that's okay-it's birds, it's allowed to be inconvenient lol.

then the toaster burnt my toast. Like BLACK burnt. set off the fire alarm-you know, the one i CAN'T REACH IN THE HALLWAY. then the dog needed out AGAIN. so now i'm 30 minutes late getting out the door after silencing the smoke alarm, scraping the one cat off the ceiling, putting the dog out and back in, and finally getting to the car to discover for some reason the horse carrots are in the front seat with me, instead of in the horses....sigh. back out to the barn, carrot the horses, and back into the car....at least i remembered my coffee.

Then, big accident on the highway on the way in. had to go around on a gravel potholed road. yeah, the back is VERY happy now....now i'm 45 minutes late....sigh. needed to get fuel-stopped at the reservation and got fuel for 80 cents a liter! whoohoo!!! SCORE! (good thing!!!!). Then another big accident in london. smack in the middle of construction. no way out. i finally JUST got to work at 845. having left at 7:15. seriously!

AND people here cannot figure out they need permits for the parking lot. so 20 minute wait to get TO the lot up the road. AND all the accessible spots were full with cars without permits. ticked me off-next closest lot is about 300 meters away, so extra long walk this morning too. with my cane. thankfully i brought that or i would not have made it to the building-as is i needed to stop and sit 4 times to make it in. and someone did hold the door for me, which was also nice, but the elevator is misbehaving and has a big sign on it. so another trip (literally) up the stairs....gah. now my wrist hurts and i think i busted either a toenail or a toe...but i can't get TO my foot to get my shoe off to check, and i'm sure i won't get it back on if i did....so...i've had it with all this. then get to my office and discover i left my coffee in the truck. SERIOUSLY!? sigh. i am such an idiot sometimes.

Now they're drilling holes in concrete walls, and i already have a weather headache settling in....i can't really complain about the construction because it's my new lab being constructed/renovated...but still. and i have a conference call this morning...with the drilling going on, that should be interesting...can't hear myself think let alone hear someone on a phone! should be interesting anyways-i'll just go and schmooze a phone in a quiet office from someone for 20 minutes. hopefully that's all the crap out of the way for today and things settle down a bit. hubby is off to a church fundraiser dinner tonight, i'm staying home. then afterwards we have some help coming to make a heavy lift of some equipment that needs to move in the house...too big for one person....and i don't count anymore for lifting, so a TALL STRONG friend is coming over to help lift. he is seriously 6'6"...lol.

Sandy, how is your wasp stung duckling doing? Fully recovered yet? I hope so.

just talked to another friend of mine, well, at least *I* didn't dump a full hole puncher on the floor....yet....sigh. at least i'm not alone in having this kind of day!!
hope everyone has a GOOD day, a predictable day, and a COOL day.....and you don't leave your coffee in strange places.....or drop your holepunch and have the back fly off....or step in cat puke....

You should of went back to bed slept an hour and got up and tried again. Lol. That's quite the start to a day.
Hump day. Does that help?

Stinger is doing great! I would think fully recovered. I can't see any lingering effects but she still gets a check over every night despite her protest. :)

It is so humid and hot. I can barely think!!! Good thing my office is in the basement so ya extra air conditioned.

Went out to the keg last night for Lou's bday dinner. Another dozen people. That's quite the bill at the end of the night. :/ but again, great company and a good time and JT can eat there. They take their allergy awareness seriously.

Hope everyone has a great day! Stay cool :)

Later I will be posting Easter egger pullets and 2 RSL's for sale. Just gotta get pictures. Hard when they free range unless it's treat time. Hahaha!

Cheers!

Have had those morning Kathy, nothing says GOOD MORNING like stepping in cat vomit and events that snowball from there. Hope the rest of your day goes better

Will be so glad when this heat and humidity is gone, was so nice over the weekend with warm non humid days and cool nights. The dogs and the chickens like it better too. Frequent checks on water bottles to make sure they all have lots to drink :beer2:

Happy Hump Day All :running-chicken:

"All peopled out".....boy can I agree with that.

kathy, i can't read your posts anymore....you have the troubles of a person who is elderly and you're only HALF WAY THERE! I know so many folks now receiving a "disability" pension who are in much better shape than you. Or they'd have a "garden" out back full of "herbs" for brownies and other baking.

A slow day today for me (gotta pick somebody up this aft in the city and drive them home), so I did a load of wood this morn. As a kid I hated school and would skip to spend the day riding my dirt bike or atv. Now I go out with a chainsaw and tractor and clear dead trees and build paths.

Good early aft,
After reading Kathy's and Bert's post, my morning seems sinfully relaxed, had a lovely breakfast with KB and company at Constance lake Lodge, was on a receiving end of supply of potatoes that should last us the whole winter, Thank you Gill, and we assessed future of "Chunky" as a possible contributor to KB's meat production.
Still no rain, although it sure looked like it for a nanosecond.
Have a good one! :)

Good day! Its sure hot out. Picked up bales today. Some of them are going to be dampish. When raking, it picked up dandelion leaves, and I am sure they were not dry today. Not much dried today, lol.

Today is Jess' birthday, so we are going over for pizza and ice cream cake. I'll like the ice cream part. Gah.. sweating sitting here. At least there is now AC at Daves.

Does anyone need any Guinea keets while they are at Kathy's... if your out her way?? Sure won't need them all.

So.... Saturday, looks like will be the day to go get them. Hope I have enough 'room' for them, lol. I will have to set up a couple rabbit cages. They are so stupid when it comes to eating and drinking..... wasn't wanting them this early, and having to have WLLady teach them how to survive, lol. Turkeys are the same. Dumb Dumb Dumb. It IS A busy weekend too. Not so much in the morning, but afternoon is a 50th wedding party for Heather.. DIL's parents. We are invited.

My sisters horse died. She got him when he was 4 months old. Well... she had him put down. At 6am this morning. Her hubby goes out at 4am... and soaks their cubes/pulp. He was down, and had been down. He'd had enough. He gave up. He was 29. Shes devastated, even tho she knows this was coming, sooner than later. Trouble is.... my elderly horse is there. Alone now. Hes probably being buried right now. So...... I am taking a mare here to go live there, and be company for her. At least this one hasn't problems, age related anyhow. Push button, drop dead broke... I imprinted her at birth... and shes a real lovebug. I will miss her, but Gary took the shelter in the hay barn back for bales.... and IF I have to dick around with horses, as in bring them inside to a dusty horse barn/turne chicken barn... two are easier to manage than 3. Besides.. Honey.. the Belgian picks on Candy. She loves Rusty. Candy and Rusty are half siblings. Candy snarks at Rusty.. because he loves Honey, LOL. Sigh. Horses.

Well... better go outside, and see whats going on. Busy enough with the bus back again....and I have to get Candy on grass abit, before Friday night. My sister has two nice pastures they clip and use.

So.... when Alice WAS here.... Candy picked on her. Well, you know, not PICK.. but be miserable dominating mare pick. It will be interesting to see how they will get along. They havne't been together for 4 years now. Candy has never left home before. Wonder if she will miss it here?

Moved chicken ninja to Guelph yesterday. Her room is pretty nice. Took her bike so she can scoot around campus, and she has her car for grocery runs. So proud of her. Excited for her beginning this next life chapter.
I've been spending a lot of time just looking at chickens figuring out who I'm keeping and who's going.
Will be going to Fenelon falls sale next weekend, then Burls Creek and finally Mount Forest. Have about 60 - 80 birds to sell.
Starting laying out plans for winter pens for the groups I'm keeping. Realized only have about 6 weeks to get it done. Yikes!!
Beautiful day here. Going out to enjoy it.
Hope everyone has a good one.
She'll have a ball there Redninja :)
Hubby just drove down and dropped off son #2 for his 4th year in HAFA co-op version (so he's got another year aft this) and I'm a UofG Alumni too. Really good school.
