Morning, not so good so far.

Packed some spare roosters up to get rid of take more space which is good. In the process decided take up a new game.....not really néw just higher degree of difficulty.

"Extreme Chicken Chasing"....

Needed:

- 1 chicken, preferably a rare, all black breed, Svart Hona is a good choice.

- a large area of trees, prickly ash and buckthorn

- 1 net

- nobody else home so you can't cheat and have help.

Participant requirements: mid-40's, overweight, wearing shorts and flop flops.

To play accidently let expensive, rare chick out of pen and then try and catch it as it runs thru the prickly ash and buckthorn.

Round one was 30 minutes. .... score chicken 2 me 0.

Chicken got 2 points because I almost caught it twice.

Had to stop after 30 minutes to go get blood transfusion to replace lost blood. Lol

Set out food and water and live traps hope she comes back.

WOWZERS thats one heck of a brake job! thats almost the price of my Heavy Duty Stage 3 tranny in my truck!

Jim theres one other trick better than a net... take a coat hanger or similar metal. bend it into a tight hook but leave an extended length of wire out from the end... heres an example... it dosent get caught much in brush... grab said bird by the leg.

Well it's 2:30 pm, sitting up here in my "the gawd "design / made tree stand . Thanks again Al lots a use . Heard yote barking last night out bdrm window no signs round place so just sittin out back in bush 12' off ground watchin . Only thing I see is lots a fat squirrels scurrying about burying walnuts . A few more weeks & should be ready for harvest , squirrels that is . Luck

YAY! you must be feeling better from your "incident" Ross! that's great!
I can't wait for October-even if i can't get out to enjoy hunting myself I can live vicariously through you guys and gals that do hunt. I am trying to get my hands on a cocking aid for the crossbow, but first i need to see if i need to install a rail on my treestand to hold it up, or if i can even get into the tree stand....maybe i'll give it a try this weekend and see how it goes.
Going to be a busy garden weekend for me....tomatoes MUST get into the dehydrator....or be used for target practice, or SOMETHING. and the weekend is ALMOST HERE!!!! WHOOHOO!
