So the egg production dropped with Lucky's departure, figured OK - routine upset and a couple of the girls keep looking for him. Found the communal nest under the rhubarb today, little snots. LOL!

Beautiful rainbow(s) across the sky after the storm rolled through. Finally over the course of Friday and today we have received some MUCH needed rain.

Thers gold in them thar hills!!! Lol
Only 8mm yesterday for us. But nicer with less humidity after they stopped yesterday.

Today is catching up on all the stuff i didnt get done yesterday lol. Love weekends. But theres not enough time. We figured out the other day that in order to have more time in a day we would need all the drivers in the world to accelerate their cars at the same time as fast as they could to alter the spin of the earth enough to give us another 0.0000000000000000000000002 seconds per day.
Um.
Hm. Yep. There was a glass of wine involved...but it is theoretically possible lol

Hope everyone has a great day. Heres hoping the grass returns...

So finally got some rain, all at once!!!!
Little private washout...the water barrel was spewing water out of all orifices and over the top....

I think this is a bit more then what the Environment Canada said we got...
water pan.jpg
Everything turned green and all the trees grew 3 feet I swear
Get to go and check if the creek is back, the poor muskrats were digging holes in the creak bed looking for water.
some cleanup around Toronto, I guess we got of lightly.
Have a leisurely Sunday :)

Good Morning!

Morning y'all

My boy is sick on the couch sleeping beside me. Loaded up on probiotics, oil of oregano, tea with honey and chicken soup is cooking on the stove. He has a cold. A bit of a concerned (I think) is his whole inside mouth is sore, the roof of his mouth, cheeks and jaw. Weird right? I'll keep an eye on it. Sore throat, head stuffiness. Well, good thing is he's in his moms care!!

Might harvest a bin of potatoes today. I need potatoes and why go and buy them when I have a few bins of them. I just wanted them to get bigger, but I'll just do one. Pictures of outcome I'll post. Someone wanted pictures, don't remember who.

Less humidity today so I'm going to take doggies on a nice long walk in a little bit. Drain some excess energy, especially in Ava. It's been so hot that walks of more than 5-7 minutes can be dangerous for the little one. We got some rain yesterday but not enough to to get to areas that are covered by leaves. So with our cloudy skies today I'm hoping for more rain.

My little Swedish duckling is growing so much. He's still pint size compared to my Muscoveys but they have totally taken him in. I kept a Muscovy that I was unsure of back from the auction, unsure of the sex, and I'm ok eased I went with my gut because I'm 99% she is a female. So that keeps me with 2 females and my chocolate male and whatever see my Swedish is.

Had company yesterday and overnight. It is always nice to catch up, share laughs with good food and good convo but alway nice to wave goodbye LOLOL!! I have dinner with friends today as well. Pretty sure I'll hibernate for a good part of the week after all this socializing. Phew it's exhausting.

Little miss Ava is waking from her morning nap, better get going before she is 2 steps ahead of me. Hope everyone has a great day.

Cheers

Potato harvest day!!
Not bad for a total of 50 feet of potatoes. Should keep us going for a few months.
The bag is the little ones to eat first.
Both bins are too heavy for me to lift....nice haul this year! Yay!

Also picked my jacobs cattle beans...and some more tomatoes. A bit of weeding. Squash bugs are decimating my pumpkins grrr. Back out tonight to wage war on them. Theres fewer after my last tantrum...but still there. Oh well.

Also cleaned the turkey pens today. So getting there. At least it was cloudy today, no hot sun to make it really hot.
Glad for the rain.

Back to the garden to pick the rest of the tomatoes and make some more marinara sauce for the winter. Cant believe the weekend is almost over!!
