Good Morning!

Post by WLLady » Fri Jun 17, 2016 8:39 am

oh tomk i hope you get rain soon! we FINALLY got about an inch by the end of yesterday. i swear i could hear the corn growing last night....thankfully. being on sand has it's good points but the one bad bad point is it's always so dry...BONE dry. horses are on hay again...sigh. hopefully this last rain will help the grass come up again.

not much new amazingly. the garden is in. have some legbands to change this weekend and have some eggs rocking and rolling in the incubator for clawton this morning, so hopefully by end of day tomorrow or sunday there will be some ducks and guineas for him! garlic scapes are up and ready and sooooo yummy. have a pile of them to enjoy for dinner the next couple of days! yay!
Hope you have some eggs for that girl of yours KB! the serious ones are pretty awesome to behold...my red is STILL sitting. on NOTHING. i'm going to kick her outside this weekend to make sure she still knows how to walk....thought about giving her some chicks...see what happens. this morning (i didn't get a photo, wish i had) 3 chicken chicks with momma turkey (okay, not REALLY momma turkey, they're welsummer chicks and i let her hatch so she'd get unbroody). one under the tip of her wing looking out, one sitting on her back and the other tucked in just under her breast poking out. so darned sweet. LOL. of course she's hissing up and storm giving me the stink eye LOL

Hope everyone has an awesome friday! almost the weekend! airshow going on in st thomas, looks to be great weather for it-if anyone likes that kind of stuff....think we're just hanging out at home, thinking of inviting some friends over for dinner saturday evening, bbq...just because i'm feeling like we've been antisocial and under a rock for a while what with waiting on appointments and xrays and cts and stuff. now that's all done, and i know what i can (and can't, and shouldn't) do-and having a bbq with friends is definitely on the "go" list....so....onwards!!!! have a great day everyone!

Yes she has eggs, I'll sort them out when she gets up for a constitutional! I don't like them to have too many. Last time I gave her 7 and she hatched 10 LOL!

Good day!! Seeing as how morning has gone.

I just spend 2.5 hours cleaning my daughters house for her. Ran her little vacuum after doing both bathrooms. Its just a pet floor thing, so it didn't suck the area rugs/mats at all. I called Gary to see if he would run over mine. When I was all done, I found her GD real vacuum, lol. Got him at a bad time. I always seem to phone him when hes in a pickle.. or could be. This time, he was trying to back a hay wagon (bale thrower rack) into a place off a road... but there is an extreme hill to the right... and railway tracks to the left. Sheesh. I think from the sounds his voice... either someone was waiting for him to get off the road.... and was flustering him. Why he answered at all is beyond me. But then again, I have a meltdown on him, whenever I DO call... and he doesn't answer, lol.

He brought it over and I did the rugs. Cleaned the kitchen abit... didn't wash the floors at all, and used as minimal water as possible doing bathrooms. Their well screwed up, or something, so they got a big water tank sitting in the driveway. They got it filled... and the damn well water backed up into the tank, so it was yellow and gungy. When I was upstairs running the water, rinsing the tub... I was getting black stuff. Went out, and the tank is almost empty. They would like to put a cistern in... and have normal water (the water they have absolutely turns their tubsurround and tub the most ungawdly yellow... and its BAD, and the only thing that will clean it IS toilet cleaner. Good thing that both the tub and surround is plastic. I used toilet cleaner on my tub... and voila!! NO shiny new finish on it anymore. Why doesn't it kill the toilet finish? Oh well.

Being almost 3 weeks to her due date, its getting hard for her to do stuff. Bending over is out anymore, lol. Hurts too much. I seriously do NOT know how I milked a herd of cows, until two days before I delivered my first child. I was 23 years old. Shes 24. I guess the less you do, the less you can do. With her and David, living here, I worked all the way along on the farm as well... and as soon as I could afterwards. We had pigs then. I did have house help tho... and she would babysit, and come get me, when the babes needed nursing. Needless to say, the kids on the boob didn't last too long. It was a struggle to make milk, and do everything I was doing. Honestly, now, I can't believe what I got accomplished back then. Its a damn struggle to get stuff done NOW, and I live with NO kids, the mess is all my own... the garden is all my own.. my birds are all my own... I do all the grass cutting/whacking.... flowerbeds. My own house is a hell hole tho... and bookwork is always behind. As well as paying bills. Have to do that this weekend!

Well, I'd better get to my own house. Going to watch our grand-daughter do her weekend final gymnastics thing. Be nice to come home to a clean kitchen anyhow, lol.

Going to be a HOT humid one!!

i am very very relieved that they were both found guilty. They destroyed so many lives.....so much pain and suffering. I hope that the Bosma's can find some peace now, I know they will never fully heal, but hopefully they can all move on with life and living to the best of their abilities. They matter, the two that did this do not matter...and as far as i figure we should completely forget they even exist, and they can go and rot in their own special places for the pain they inflicted.

usually i try not to get consumed with things like this....but i know people that know the family, and i saw a small part of the pain they were going through.

almost the weekend!!!! a little bit of weeding in my future, and some mulching and basically laying low for the weekend. yay!

Oh sweet!
I think the scary part about the Bosma murder was that it was random and could have been anyone. It didn't matter to those 2 "creatures". I just don't get it. Hope this gives some closure, Charlene Bosma is a classy lady.

Glad the trial is over. Now these two assholes can join the other murderers for the rest of their lives, or 25 years, which ever comes first .

Well this was the last full week of high school classes, just 3 more class days and exams, and marking and report cards and then off for the summer after our school grade 12 graduation the evening of June 30th!!!

Going to be a hot weekend, I need to try and finish planting a few plants and shrubs I have left and move some birds around this weekend.

I picked up a few more birds this weekend, I had ordered 10 Cornish X meat chicks to try and raise, but decided I have enough chicks at the moment, so I sold them. I will probably order a few later summer to grow up this fall. I also ordered 6 Artisan Gold turkey poults to raise up for eating an d to keep a couple for future breeding.

Today I picked up 2 dozen guinea fowl hatching eggs and 8 guinea keets of various colours, can't wait to see what they look like as they grow.
