Good Morning!
LOL. well, and i'm not allowed to have "exotic" pets either....like lions and tigers....LOL. yep, that guy lived close to me....he got killed by his "pets" (i think they actually were eating him). yum.
elgin is a little weird that way. yep, next time i move (shuddering at the thought of packing my house and all the stuff in it), i will DEFINITELY check all the bylaws, as i got older and possibly wiser i have less and less patience for things that just don't make sense....LOL

Good Morning!
ya thats my interpretation as well Ross.
LOL while I was looking up info I came across an Ontario Firearms lawer who said that you can legally shoot a restricted at your residence because of how the wording of the laws are interpreted. something like "at ones residence" "not in ones residence." he said the law applies to the entire property not just the home, and no where does it say that it is illegal to shoot a restricted at ones residence, just not off your property unless its an accredited firing range and you have met the requirements to transport the firearm there.... I LOL and thought I hope hes a darn good lawer that would win a case like that and work for free. LOL. cuz no one else interprets the law that way at all. they'd come guns a blazing.

Good Morning!
"not in ones residence"....lol. i'm not sure why i find that funny....
i know someone that had a bow range in his basement. was all good until he got a crossbow and blew the bolt through the target, into the wall and through the electrical cable inside the wall and then out into the ground outside (at least the basement was below ground).

Good Morning!
Lmao, when I got married my wife asked why there's holes in the screens. Our house is a perfect lookout over the creek and my office (then my bedroom) looks south and many times I shot starlings and other things (me? Shooting beavers is not legal.. i wouldn't do that.)

Good Morning!
We finally are getting some much needed rain tonight. It's coming down gently but if it lasts all night should give the ground a much needed soaking.
A while back I had an acquaintance (we met at the council meeting where they where debating allowing chickens in town) who owns chickens call me in a panic about one of her hens. Turns out she had gone broody, so I gave her a list of things to try and break the broodiness. Long story short, I took her some fertile eggs. They hatched this week and my friend is over the moon spending lots of time just watching mom and chicks. Enabling is so much fun!
Next load in incubator due to start hatching tomorrow. A bunch of my own Isbar eggs. Very excited. Will have trouble sleeping the next few nights. Will update on hatch success.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Good Morning!
Desperate for more rain here but nothing in the forecast until next Tuesday. Good luck with the hatch. When I first had chickens we went away for a couple of days and my neighbour kept an eye on them. Came home to a broody hen!

Good Morning!
Good morning
It rained all night and woke to the some fog but the sun is taking care of business. Its great to get a nice soaker with no thunder and lightening. (hate thunder).
I have a few cockerels heading to the auction on Friday. These easter eggers are looking just lovely and I love their temperament. My rocks at this age already had their bitchiness shinning through. HAHA! But I love my rocks.
There was a white Columbia Rock rooster @ the BST on the weekend. This dude was STUNNING. I was this close...this close to getting him. Shirley, you saw him. Beauty eh? I might as for some hatching eggs next time my silkie goes broody and see what she can hatch out. The hen that was there was a real looker too. And the size of that Roo. WOW! Just huge.
What is with bantams and their attitudes? All bantams rock the attitude chain?
Josh was driving home last night and a couple were at the side of the road. No vehicle to be found. They were hoovering and the women visibily upset. He said you could tell she was a 'mess'. He turned around and went back - it was dark and pouring rain. Approx. 10pm. He asked if they were OK but Someone had hit their dog, german shepherd. He got out and asked if they needed help carrying him. So he helped them carry to the front of their garage. As a mother my stomach sank. What if. OMG What if. But I also know I would of, and have done similar things, ultimately putting myself at risk for others. And more often than not he has been with me during the years when random things have happened. Stupid compassion, can get ya killed these days. So we had a talk about asking if they were OK, but that maybe next time that could be enough. He said he went with his gut feeling. Another thing I always preach. Listen to the gut, it never lies. And he felt they were fine and most obviously devastated at their loss. I tossed and turned all night. The what if, I couldn`t shake. Hes a great kid, but man he can stress me out! LOL
Peppers transplanted are doing amazing!! Thanks again BVF.
Anyone going to the Niagara PoultryFest and or entering any birds in? Just curious. I was going to check and see if they show EE's, but I'm too nervous to bring home something. So I think I'll be an admirerer.
Hope everyone has a great day! Sun is shining and its not stinking hot YET.
Um, Puppy comes home in 5 weeks 2 days in case you forgot!
