Good Morning!
Good morning!
Jim, I am so envious both the fish and the experience the kids had catching them.
Another scorcher here, garden is in and the last of the blooming crabapples is getting all kinds of bumblebee attention.

Good Morning!
Had a great time at the sale in wyoming today! Excellent turn out!!! Nice to see it growing every year. Soon it will rival mount forest
Many fewer birds here at home now. Less mouths to feed but totally forgot 6 poults in the barn with their parents. Oops. Oh well. I can advertise them later.
Great to see everyone too! Lots of familiar faces (and PTO usernames lol).
Got home and spawn of evil gsp had pulled his cone off and started chewing it apart. Hm...no more pain meds for him!! He still has all the stitches and staples....somehow....and its all looking great. Healing up.well. he is such a bad bad dog.
Looking forward to a nap i must admit. Hoping for rain still-now that the sale is over.
Hope you all have a great rest of your weekends.

Good Morning!
That's fantastic about the successful sale. Who knew you could make money off chickens/turkeys?? This might go down in the records books for PTO members :)
Tango sounds hilarious. Sorry, but a dog with such determination must be full of personality. Speaking of dogs; my pup has been born and I swear I'm busting at the seams! Not sure how I'm going to make it 9 weeks till I bring her home. I already have 2 visits planned to go up and see them all and pick my girl out. I can't wait to squish 10 puppies and lay down and let them run all over me. OMG, I love pups. I'm teetering on 2, but for now it's 1. Pups are so much work but worth every exhausting moment. Expect to see lots of pictures. :) I'm frustrated with this coyote situation. I haven't seen a single one with this crossbow practicing going on. We took yesterday off to see if they would surface. Nothing. I know they are still close by because we hear them at night or even sometimes during the day. I went out back on the atv yesterday to see if I could see anything. Some indication of where they are. Nothing. For now things are quiet but I'm not dropping my guard.
Cooler today and it nice that the windows are open. We need rain so bad, my gardens are having to get by on the bare minimum.
So I have a friend who is very environmentally conscious etc. She is warning against water collected from roofs that have petroleum based shingles (us) and using in the garden for vegetables. Any thoughts on that? She has a different collecting system which is damn impressive but I'm not getting to that this year.
Busy week. Lots of paperwork to get done on top of regular busyiness.
I thought my packed bee hives were coming next weekend, but has been scheduled for the middle of June. Cold April? Queen Bee? Something about ensuring mating?
So I took the snow shovels out of the shed yesterday and out them on display in the driveway. I was hoping to wake to at least some frost on the ground. Didn't work.
Think I'll go kayaking on the weekend. Will be a first, this kayaking thing. Video/camera will be left at home!
Have a great day y'all!
Cheers

Good Morning!
Lovely pups!
Happy morning because the broody turkey I was so worried about hatched at least one overnight. She's been broody for 6 weeks and at the weekend I disturbed her to get out a couple of stinking eggs. M bad that a couple of term eggs got steamrollered. At least I got the stinkers out. She's very dedicated and yesterday was clearly suffering from the heat. Anyway I'm much relieved.

Good Morning!
Geezus... I feel broken. Just shovelled I don't know how many holes into hard packed ground, and stabbed the holes a hundred times, got down on my knees, and crushed the lumps up, and planted my different squash plants. Incorporated a handful of manure, mixed it in, set in the plant, and watered it in. They are in somewhat of a moat situation, that will hold lots of water, until it ever decides to rain. They were getting OLD... some had flowers starting. I hope they come along. I had to break up some roots. I am sure they will fag along for awhile. I'll have to keep them watered. Then I dug holes for other things, like pumpkins and ornamental gourds for the kids... seeds. I have a hundred pepper plants (not planting them all), and still have a flat of tomatoes, how many is in a flat? 48? Seeded them later... they are about 4 inches tall. Sigh. Why do I plant so many things. I already planted out 8 plants that were 3 feet tall. (started March 1st).
My green and yellow beans and cucucmbers are up. I still want to plant beets, the rest of the onions and zucchini and other stuff. My Jacobs cattle beans... which will be put down here beside the house, so they don't 'frolick' with my other beans... I like keeping purebred seed back. I need to cut grass.
We had a real lightning show last night, but it wasn't close; the storm. Wicked wicked strikes, but hardly any thunder. A sprinkle of rain. Thats two nights in a row, a thunderstorm, with about 75 drops of rain. After we cut hay of course. If you want rain... cut hay.
Gary ran out of corn, so had to drag out the auger, and get the truck going, everything set up and go for corn. He wants to fluff hay, spray corn (almost hate to mention spraying and chemicals anymore), plant more beans at a piece of rented ground.. or is it corn. Probs corn... as it was a hay plowdown. Farmer who owns the land plowed down alfalfa hay, that was waist high, without taking it off first, because he has lots of hay. WTH? Maybe we could have used it. Oh well. His loss. That field he took out of production was just seeded last year. With the price of alfalfa seed... and and... well, can we say loser farmer? You wouldn't even believe the stuff I could tell you about him.

Good Morning!
good afternoon everyone!
Happy phone call from the doctor's today, tomorrow i have my CT.....and then back to see the surgeon on the 15th....fingers crossed for some good news at this point....i will settle for seeing that L5 is not actually broken like it seemed on the MRI, and there's no degeneration anywhere else in my spine so we can do surgery kind of news. That would be a great start for me! LOL
Tomorrow we are on farm sitting duty....just for a day. i'll get to see my old buddy lacie again! yay! and cotton (small horse compared to my guys!) too. and a gazillion cats LOL.
AW puppy sausages, so cute!!!!
thinking of puppies....tango, yes, he has personality out the whazoo (whatever a whazoo is i'm sure he has at least 4 of them, whatever they are). He managed to get his "cone" off (it's really more an inflatable collar that looks like he's going swimming and needs to keep his head above water), so somehow he scraped that over his ears and chewed off the velcro that holds it on. LOL. so yesterday after the sale i did some quick repairs. we'll see how many pieces it's in later tonight. he's a perpetually happy dog, and into EVERYTHING.
Got most of the garden planted after the sale yesterday. some squash left yet, and the brussel sprouts and cauliflower and brocolli still left to go. we'll be watering tonight, no rain whatsoever yesterday. nadda. not even a drip. got all the onions in, like 200 of them....and peppers-not quite 100, i think only 30 plants. and all the tomatoes, potatoes, corn, beans, baking beans, yellow beans, green beans, cucumbers, peas, carrots, cabbage, lettuce, head lettuce, spinach, herbs....all planted between last weekend and this weekend. was going to try to get some more stuff in tonight...but not quite sure yet. pretty sore after the weekend so i might just take it easy. have to move the munchkins (chicks) from the basement to the grow out coop...and move the on turkey jenny i'm keeping down and then check if the sitting girl is still sitting. she steam rollered an egg with a fully formed poult in it. sigh. found that last night. tried to check the other eggs but by then she was a screaming spiky ball of hissing feathers...and i want to keep all my fingers.....so maybe tonight. i'll throw a chick feeder in there anyways, and a waterer. have someone interested in the other 6 that i forgot to take to the sale. so need to take some photos. and then need to catch up with a custom hatch person....find out what they want exactly. and get collecting.
alright. still praying for rain....any rain...my grass is going yellow. had to put hay out for the horses again. sigh.
have a great evening everyone!
