When we got home there were no casualties and all was well with a bonus....... 2 call ducklings swimming on the pond with mom! WOOOHOOOOO!
HAHA well taking some beach family pics I got a pic of Gage sneezing... the funniest pic ever!

Good Morning!
26 muscovy ducks.
cute little buggers, definitely messy, and i didn't realize they have quite the claws on those feet!!
I believe that In the wild Muscovies perch in trees, and may nest in them too do the ducklings need to climb out.... They need the traction.

Good Morning!
Good day! Here I sit in the house, freezing, because, well not only is it chilly in here, I'm still sick with this cold. Feeling worse this day, than any of the others since I came down with it. ugh. So tired. Was up since 2am. Course, I did fall asleep finally at 6:30am, with the alarm going off 20 minutes later.
Did chores, puttered watering plants, made nectar for the hummers, put up my 'moats', and washed the feeders. Waiting for it to cool. May do some seeding if I feel up to it after bus. I tried to nap, but I took daytime tylenol cold complete, so thats a lost cause. Maybe I should carry the turner into the bathroom, where its dark, and candle and lock down eggs. Should do that. Day 18 was yesterday.
Well, I went ahead and did that.... and good thing. Some were pipped. BAD chicken mom. I hope I didn't shrink them. Probaby cause I had the temps hiked somewhat. 23 were good, 5 were clear. Out of the 4 guinea eggs, ONE is good. Sheesh. The one brinsea was loaded with guinea eggs last night. Not room for a hair. So... its got its own brinsea running for a week... or until this bator (hovabator) is finished.
I will call him George. He will be a house guinea, lol. Frig.
I hope I get a decent hatch.... they aren't due until the 26th. I set May 5th, 9am.

Good Morning!
I started to get that cold Shirley. Sore throat and I was all over the oil or oregano and probiotics. Slayed that beast before it took over!!!
Get better soon.

Good Morning!
My husband swears by a good shot of whiskey before bed if he feels a cold coming on. Seems to work, I put in guinea eggs and not one was fertile, and then the parents took off. Jeese

Good Morning!
Got myself set up with an Excalibur Grizzly yesterday evening. Got a target bag so I can put it where they typical stalk and aim, shoot and score! Boy will I be happy with this crap is over with. Well the daily stress of it anyways. I'm in school all weekend so I'm worried about the shenanigans that could go down here. Keeps me out till 11pm at night and I'm gone by 7:30am. Wish I had my Cinder girl. None of this crap would be going on.
BassPro, Niagara On The Lake, they were absolutely wonderful. Helpful and very informative. They were telling me coyotes are nothing without a nose. They can smell me when they are at the back of the property. So I'm thinking they knew that Kathy & Martin were here, especially Martin out in their territory. I haven't let Josh back behind the garage since Kathy said the yotes stance was 'this is our territory'. I am not interested in adding that to Joshs life experiences. He already looks like his face has been clawed by a bear.
Boy, we need some rain. Everything is dry dry dry. Except out back. But gardens are having to be watered every day and there isn't any water left in the rain barrels. Why? Because we are lacking in rain.
Someone mentioned a injured kitty call. I couldn't find it as bass pro. Any idea where I can get that? BassPro also suggested when I'm ready for a full on yote arrival to bait them with blood etc. I'm ready when I have a shot gun not a crossbow. Damn paperwork trail.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Cheers!
Sandy

Good Morning!
Right on Sandy! Im very jealous of your new Excalibur. Iv always wanted one but could never afford one. instead I pimped out a cheap Chinese crossbow, it shoots great but is no Excalibur but at a little over $200 I can live with it. plus its %100 legal for hunting deer around here.
Have a great day all!

Good Morning!
You lucky girl, put it to good use! You have to do the yowling cat call yourself, easy with a bit of practice.

Good Morning!
Good morning!! The hatch is going good!! Theres lots of cheeping beside me, I think that I've got it down with this hovabator, in a cold house. One degree warmer, NO water at all.... and only a tiny tiny bit on lockdown, day 19. Theres 8 out of 23 eggs so far, 2 zips.. and some more pips.
Well, I feel abit better this morning, its cloudy, may rain, so may put out some tomato plants, after chores. Still holding off for a good week for peppers. Even tho I have black plastic down, and surrounded by bales. I have replacement tomatoes if I need them... and Dam's are putting their tomato trials here, so I really don't have to plant any, lol.
Well, I guess I'd better get outside.

Good Morning!
Good morning, glad you are feeling better BVF, little chirping goes a long way to recovery.
Spend a day on the road yesterday leaving DH with instructions to keep the house temperature as even as possible, couldn't ask him to fiddle with the incubator. He swore he barely opened any doors, must be true the incubator seemed to be pretty steady. :)
Every apple tree in full bloom here and plenty of bumblebees around them but no bees.
Grew this one from a seed about 20 years ago, now almost half in shade, still making an all out effort.
