Good Morning!
Hey folks! Back from my conference. Awesome conference that the ALS society puts on for us ALS researchers. I got back to everything in great shape except the downstairs toilet lol....its leaking...so i think that will end up being replaced very soon. Good thing we have 2 bathrooms!! And the incubator is cheeping!!! I have to go and move the hatched out to the brooder and see what has hatched...yay!!!
Sorry about the small preemie calf bvf. But also congrats on the new ones!! Okay...off to check how everyone is doing and see if anyone missed me. Lol
Always so good to come home again.
Have a great night everyone!

Good Morning!
Holy crap!!! Awesome hatch!!!!
9/11 cornish (with another piped). 2 welsummer so far
At least 12 wheaten and blue wheaten ameraucanas, some sired by the new blue wheaten from kathy (micah and kiah). The rirs are slower....just making noise still...so hopefuly soon and a smattering of my black gold non-apa black gold ameraucanas (a project line of easter eggers based on ameraucanas but on eb/eb e locus.
A pile of birds. The ameraucanas and ees are spoken for as are the cornish...so as long as everyone is happy and healthy still on wednesday they will be off to new homes!!

Great hatch Kathy :smiley-char026:
They all probably knew you weren't home peeking at them so they all decided to come out

Good Morning!
Good morning,
BVF I have had Haskap for four years. They do flower early but I always get loads of berries off them. Even the male pollinator gives me quit a bit, I'm very happy with them. I hope you enjoy them. My turkeys are finally laying, the quail aren't yet. I'm not sure why my birds are so slow this year, but fertility and hatch rates have been great with the chickens, so here's hoping it carries through to the rest of my birds.

Good Morning!
another bunch of chicks hatched last night, i think another cornish (still drying) and some of Al's RIRs and a few more of the ameraucanas! So some went down to the brooder, and i discovered my hubby had changed out the light in the basement with some LED thing that was amazingly dim!!! argh! so we'll have to decide tonight if i'm going to keep that light down there. There's very little natural light for the chicks down there, so i give them some extra with the lights, but wow, that light wasn't helping at all! i could barely see what i was doing! sigh.
so the black gold ameraucanas are the solid brown chicks. no stripes, no headdots, just solid brown darker on the top, a little lighter on the bottom. the one in the top photo (in my post with the pics) on the right side is a black gold....it will feather in darker towards the back, and more gold in the hackle and chest. unless of course it's a boy, and then hackle and saddle will be gold and rest will be black.
got my agriculture questionnaire for the census yesterday. wow....just trying to get through it online....if you need to do it, then make sure you have your current tax form or the accounting files right there...of course, i need to go and dig mine out again. sigh. we just had all the taxes etc done last week right before i left, so...at least we have until the 10th to get these things done. man, how many chickens under 18 weeks old....? um? counting what hatches today? how about counting what will go out the door tonight? so i figure it's as of may 10....lol. i guess. because those numbers change daily it seems, so i can only give my best estimate....plus they want to know for 2016, which hasn't even happened yet! i have no clue if we are doing fallow or beans or what on our cropshare.....no wheat, no corn, but....?? ah well. and do i count my front lawn in the pasture area? they're livestock (horses) but they're not "business" animals....so....lol. lots of fill in the blanks. can't wait to get the long form census for the house, given i have NEVER gotten the short form, i'm not that lucky. it'll probably come in the mail today, since pretty much everyone else has gotten theirs yesterday already.
WHOOHOO! i need a rain day. a day where it is pouring rain out so i don't feel like sitting at the computer is pulling me away from other things. then i can sit with a tea and just DO...and get it done. i don't know how people can work in accounting or statistics every day all day....sure isn't for me.
hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!
yeah, my big question is.....if the horses are pets, and i don't claim any of their expenses, are they technically livestock? I guess they are, but then i "pasture" them on my private land, on the 2 acres of lawn that is taxed at residential rate...so....that is NOT included in my farmland - income generating land....so....do i put in 2 acres of pasture? which it isn't...or just pretend i have no pasture (which i dont, not on my farmland anyways)....?? LOL
i don't know. i'll do my best that's all i can say-and all i can do.
