Turned off incubator this morning
Last 6 eggs
5 fully formed chicks dead
1 fully formed with a wee tiny bit of yolk sac dead
Not sure what happened to these?
Could the egg shells be too strong to pip through?
Or is this just because....

Hard to say Colleen, some make it and some dont. if they were full of water in the air sac than it would be to much humidity causing them to drown. thats about all I know.

I just believe having chicks hatch is always a success!

Pouring freezing rain now-at least the snow cant blow around anymore its frozen to the ground....
Chores are done. Chickens are exceedingly unimpressed. They all got some boss to cheer them up. Broody turkey is still sitting and hissing....horses are completely ticked and standing in the stall...went out with some beet pulp to warm them up and ted ate...headed to the door looked out put his ears back and backed back into the stall. Not impressed. Lol.
Glad you are home ross. Driving in this would not be fun.

Nothing out this way yet, we may just end up with freezing rain. Just came in from measuring up a spot for a new coop and fenced chicken yard. I want the birds over here at the house. I will post progress and pics in a new thread when we break ground, should be late next week.
