3....first drop at floor 5. if it doesn't break then go to 7. if it doesn't break go to 9. if it doesn't break obviously it's 10 and if it does break it could be 8 or 7 so must test 8.....which is "throw 4"

if it does break at 7 then test 6 on "throw 3" (because it didn't break at 5).
if it does break at 9 then test at 8 on "throw 4"
but if it DOES break at 5. then 3. if it doesn't break at 3 then test 4 "throw 3" and if it does then test 2 on "throw 3" and if it does it must be 1.....

for a total of 4 "throws" needed on any given piece depending on the result at floor 5.....

unless of course i was hired there, in which case i need 10 throws for EVERY piece. and wouldn't have to worry about high blood pressure EVER LOL

You need 4 throws.
First one from 4th level (not 5th).
If breaks, keep using glass on 1st, 2nd, 3rd until it breaks. => combined 4 throws.

If doesn't break on 4th, throw next from 7th.
If it breaks there, throw second glass from 5 and 6 => combined 4 throws.

If it doesn't break from 4th and 7th, throw next from 9th
If it breaks there, throw second glas from 8th => combined 4 throws.

If it also doesn't break on 9th, throw from 10th. => 4,7, 9, 10th make 4 throws.

Ok,
easy one today:

Three logic whizzes go to a bar and sit down. The bartender comes and asks: "Do you all want a beer?"
First one replies: "I don't know."
Second one says: "No clue."
Third one: "Yes"

How many beers does the bartender bring (and why)?

3 beers because the bartender asked do you "all" want a beer and number 3 said yes. So 'all' 3 got a beer.

see... not that hard.

Number one wants one, but doesn't know if the others do. So he has to say : "don't know" to the question if all want one. If he didn't want one, he would say: "no" already.
Number two is in the same boat. He knows number 1 wants one, otherwise he would have said "no". But #2 still doesn't know if #3 wants one or not. So his answer also needs to be: don't know.

Number 3 now knows that both before him want one. He does also, so: "yes"

well, i still can't get the red blue red blue thing.....so someone is going to have to help me out there. i get going in a circle...lol. (okay, i've spent like a minute on trying to figure it out...but i am writing grants at the same time, that really messes with one's head).

well, let me qualify this. i CAN get it IF i am allowed to go backwards...but i don't think that's allowed is it? as in, red then go up and touch the blue but then come back down again from the blue i just went up to touch....
